Homemade Pierogies

“Neighborhood Pub We end up here time & time again even though we don't live in the neighborhood. It's a great spot to beat the summer heat or cozy up on a cold, rainy Pittsburgh evening to enjoy your friends' company, a game on tv (they have the ticket & offer football specials), or chat with the friendly bartenders. It's so cozy & comfortable. This adorable Irish pub is one of our favorites in Pittsburgh because it not only offers a great Guinness or Black & Tan for my husband to enjoy, they also have a great cocktail menu including their classics and seasonal features! Recently I've even had some great Mocktails here. COCKTAILS Scarlet Coat: paddy's Irish whiskey, angostura bitters, orgeat, lemon, aquafaba foam - a bitter vegan riff on a whiskey sour Irish Serpent: reposado tequila, st. germain elderflower liqueur, yellow chartreuse, orange bitters, lemon twist - unique & tasty Red & Green Mojito: mint, lime juice, strawberry purée, sugar, rum, club - tastes like summer! MOCKTAILS Peach Cobbler Marg (w/ zero proof tequila) - not only beautiful, but also delish. Great flavors for fall. Maple Whiskey Sour (w/ zero proof bourbon) - the faux bourbon flavor was just a tad too smoky for me, but this would be so good with real whiskey We always have a great time here. It's super relaxed with chill staff & is a great place to escape your worries after a long day or even to kick off the weekend! Check them out in the Lawrenceville neighborhood if you're looking for a pub in Pittsburgh.“

“I sometimes have a hard time finding this little neighborhood bar. It's a gem. I feel like it's kind of like a phantom bar that phases in and out of existence, like something out of Brigadoon. It defines the word 'cozy'. The food went from reheated pizza to (now) very respectable bar food. It's always chill here, and the prices are right. Bar staff are consistently friendly. It's good that this place is hard to find. It's for locals, and people that know how to behave in bars. If you can't respect that, you shouldn't go.“

Murphy's Tap Room Bar • $
1106 S Braddock Ave, Pittsburgh

“Murphy's a great, old-school, no-fuss dive bar with a dying neighborhood vibe, which the next generation will not know that they are missing until it's too late. It's super friendly, but in representation by the staff and the locals that crowd around the bar, and as it's a cash establishment, it's more than affordable. It's a real dive bar, so the beer and drink selection will not be too extensive, but if you're looking for 60 different kinds on a rotating tap, you're in the wrong place. It's dimly lit but no longer smokey, which is great when you just want to hide from the world.Nothing bad to be said about the place, and it's nice to be treated like you're part of the neighborhood, even as a married-on person (my husband lived here about a decade earlier, and so he's still recognized by staff and regulars).“

Hoople's Public House Bar • $
2221 Brownsville Rd, Pittsburgh

“Good food, friendly staff and patrons. Great specials. Don’t mob this place cause then I won’t have anywhere to sit. A bit dated on the inside and thankful for it, not everywhere needs that ugly new age warehouse look. Something truly comfortable about this“

“Great ambience! Felt like we were sitting in a pub in Ireland. Menu is somewhat limited, and if you aren't a beer drinker, seemed like your only choice is hard alcohol drinks or soft drinks. Food that we ordered were appetizers and they were delicious!“

“They play good music at night compared to other spots. Its not my type of bar, but for others interested in dancing, loud music, and average priced drinks it could definitely be your scene. I noticed the floors get sticky a lot of nights I've come there.“

“They are better than my dad's wings, even my dad admits they make better wings than he does. You should try the wet Cajun wings. It may sound gross, but I'm not joking, I was eating it like soup with a spoon! their upper decker burger was huge and delicious so much cheese and the patty was huge. I ate more here than I did on Thanksgiving. Service was great too, they did not forget about us, and they were nice too. The decorations were great all around the room in the back. In the front they had Amazing music playing and people were singing to it and having a jolly old time. This place has good. service, atmosphere, food everything you could want from a restaurant. This is by far the best wing place in the country and probably my favorite restaurant!!!!“

Lucky Frank's Irish Pub Braddock Irish Pub • $
312 Braddock Ave, Braddock

“Great Neighborhood spot - lot's of friendly people and the drinks are cheap (inexpensive for those of you that don't like that word). From the outside it looks like an old bar from the wild west - especially since there's nothing to the right of it. My brother Matt goes here and everyone loves him. Oh, and they don't put up with any bullsh*t you might find at a less than savory joint.“
