They claim to have only two restrooms (one women’s and one men’s) which results in, quite literally, a half an hour- long line. Also, neither appears to be ADA-compliant. Pittsburgh building codes require a minimum of one ADA-compliant, gender-neutral restroom for every 50 occupants, and there were FAR more than 50 people in the bar when I went… so this begs the question WHERE ARE THE OTHER BATHROOMS, HUH?

I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad time at 5801! And the greatest part is the staff!! From the servers, food runners, bartenders, security, DJs, performers and Drag Queens this place NEVER ceases to provide an incredible time! The food is not “just bar food”, it is DELICIOUS! (Even sober! 🤣) Their cocktails are delicious and service is always friendly and usually SUPER fast (unless they’re slammed- and then the length of time is trying to get through the crowds because everyone loves this place!) Larry has to be one of my favorite employees (YOU MUST TRY “LARRY’S MUSTARD” 🤤)🖤🏳️🌈

My girlfriend and I came here at around 6 PM, so that may have impacted our experience (for the better!) but I found it to be a nice place with low-key vibes, decent old-fashioned bar food, and good drinks. I appreciated that the music was loud enough to hear and enjoy, but not so loud you can't hear the people around you. Felt welcome and accepted by the bartender and patrons - someone bought us all shots and someone else complimented my outfit. Nice place to vibe at the end of a busy day.

I’m not one to ever leave a review but today is the day I guess. lol It’s simple… we go there pretty often for happy hour. We’re very chill and understanding.. but 3 bartenders behind the bar, 2 training a new girl… the guys training her have no idea how order of service works consider my partner and I sat at the bar, not busy, and it took 25 minutes of sitting there with empty drinks before they decided to ask if we wanted to put food in. Well, yes that’s why we were there, but no instead we left because during that waiting period we got to witness new customers come in and get asked if they wanted to put orders in…after we’ve made eye contact with each of them behind the bar literally saying we’re waiting to put food in.. and nothing… but then one of the beers kick and the older guy training her just complains about not wanting to do his job…while we sit there not being served for barely a half hour after only having a drink.. but insult us with apologies after you’re literally just complaining to each other behind the bar instead of asking any customers if we wanted anything. Can’t be more direct in how it’s just not acceptable for any patron to deal with that. Even the busiest of days it’s never been this bad. But thank you for insulting us with still charging us for the two drinks we got to “enjoy”.

My friends and I like to go to 5801 and were excited to go on May 3rd. However, we were denied entrance because the people in front of us had a fake ID. They refused to scan our valid IDs. Very disappointed as I have been coming here since I turned 21.

a DJ gave me a microphone and a security guard accused me of stealing it. He seemed aggressive, i suspect it was because i was gay, He(a guy) kicked me out over a misunderstanding and refused to hear me out. Don’t go to a gay bar that hires homophobic people that get off on abusing their power. 0/10. Not going back!!
5801 was once a beautiful SAFE queer space in the city of Pittsburgh. However, lately this bar has felt more like a degenerate-college-bar filled with aggressive sorority girls, who push you on the dance floor and spill their drinks on you, and creepy frat boys who don’t understand what personal space is. My friends and I have been coming here for years, but these past few experiences we’ve had over the course of several months have been disheartening. I no longer recognize 5801 as the flourishing gay bar that it was, and perhaps in the new horrible world we live in where being a queer person is no longer acceptable, they have decided to change their audience. Constantly playing awful music featuring the likes of Taylor, Swift, Tate McRae, Gracie Abrams and other subpar pop musicians is just NOT what you want to listen to when you’re trying to dance and encourages these aggressive college kids to keep coming here. It’s sad to see because the staff at 5801 has always been so unbelievably wonderful. From the bartenders to the bouncers at the door, we’ve never had a bad experience with any of the staff and keep coming back just to see our favorites. It truly is the new patrons that the management seems to be encouraging to come here that are the problem. I’ve noticed the past few times I’ve gone that they’ve also hired security who doesn’t seem to be doing anything about these aggressors. I am terrified that these people will get aggressive with the wrong person and it will escalate into something worse. I hope something changes soon because I really don’t want to have to find a new queer space for my friends and I to go to instead of 5801.

Great drinks. Plenty of options. AMAZING BREAKFAST!! I literally can’t preach about the breakfast enough. It is LOVELY!! I live in Ohio and wish we had a bar combo with food of this quality. GET A DRINK AND GET BREAKFAST!! 🤤 the French toast and the waffle are two of my favorites. Can’t wait until I’ll be in the area in two weeks… strictly for this place.
