We checked out this place last night. I've never had Nigerian food before, and it was fantastic. The waiter was very helpful, and introduced us to fufu and two different soups to eat with it. Definitely will be back to try more of the menu.

This restaurant lacks professional service. The worker engaged in deceptive behavior.?The food is not what they claimed with pictures on the web. I am new in Pittsburgh, I ordered food, they brought wrong food, I called to complain but they hung up on me. I am hungry. I have just wasted $35

I went with a party of 15 for my birthday and it was wonderful. Great staff and fantastic food. Some in our party were vegetarian or vegan and they were very accommodating. I will be back to try more dishes.Vegetarian options: Most vegetable dishes can be accommodated as vegetarian or veganKid-friendliness: They have high chairs available

I wanted to preface this by saying: We've really enjoyed their food in the past. We've also eaten at their Squirrel Hill location a few times. While the service was a bit crass and wasn't something to write home about, their food has always kept us coming back for more.So it's really unfortunate that I'm leaving this review. We ordered pick up via phone since their online web form wasn't working. The man on the phone told us that the food will be ready in 30 minutes - which is pretty standard for takeoutMore than 30 minutes - my partner and I drive to pick up the food. We were then told that they JUST started cooking our order when I arrived and would need to wait another 30 minutes. The restaurant itself didn't look busy but we assumed they may have a bunch of back orders to deal with so we didn't mind driving back home to wait.Another 30 minutes goes by and we drive back to pick up our order. Lo and behold - they tells us our food still isn't ready and would need to wait another 30 minutes. At that point we were pretty hungry and was extremely disappointed on how they handled our order. We ended up cancelling and ordered somewhere else with more reliable service and quality. The recent reviews for this place tracks. Their service has gone downhill - which sucks because we've always liked eating their food.

Diverse menu selections. Decent sized portions. My wife and I tried the colorful rice with beef, oxtails with rice and peas, and spinach. All of the dishes were very well seasoned and hearty. The spinach dish was a medium spicy.

The food was nothing short of amazing and authentic! My family and I really enjoyed the entire experience, from the food to the customer service. We tried the egusi with fufu, ogbono stew, chicken pies, and jollof rice. The flavor and spice level.....Perfection. Portion sizes were on the smaller side in comparison to other places. However, it was enough to leave my family of 4 completely full. If you find yourself in Pittsburgh please make this a place on your list of places to try.

There is no reason to have bad cuts of meat when pittsburgh has the strip. Food was nasty with extremely small portions. This is not fine dining just everyday african food so stop it with the baby portions. The mixed vegetable soup had bugs. The goat was overcooked with hardly any meat. The food didn't come out together. This place won't be there long. Overcharging for bad service and food! I attempted to eat here one time never again..

so I've been going to this place for a while now but for the last few weeks especially today I was told that my order will take about 15 to 20 minutes but it ended up took an hour and when I get home my soups was not even full it was barely half. sorry I like the place. but I won't be back there anytime soon. #thefoodisstillgood!!

If you're looking for the worst restaurant in Pittsburgh, your search has ended. The food was terrible, the 'service' was worse, the ambiance screams, "This used to be an entirely different restaurant!" My wife and I took our cousin out for his birthday. Every year we find a great new restaurant and up until now we were batting a thousand. When we walked in we were greeted by no one, just a completely empty dining room on a Tuesday night. We waited a while then walked around looking for some sign of life. We were spotted by a woman sitting in a booth in the back of the room. She seemed confused and asked us what we wanted. We told her we had reservations and she eventually found someone to seat us. Our waiter had an odd attitude and barely knew the menu. Regardless we ordered fresh fish stew, goat meat, fufu, ewedu, fried dodo, a puff and a bottle of wine. First we were given the wine. Not that it was the biggest inconvenience, but opening the bottle was left to us which is somewhat awkward sitting in a booth. The food came out quickly, which was another red flag. The fufu was still in cling wrap and apparently microwaved. Ultimately it was the best item we had. We received four pieces of goat meet in a pretty mediocre sauce. One of the pieces was just a large chunk of fat. It was all tough and ultimately not so great. The 'fresh' fish was 1 and 1/4 pieces out of a can, stone cold, filled with bones in the same sauce as the goat. I honestly felt ill after I took a bite. I've never had ewedu, so I can't be sure if it's supposed to be a tepid bowl of mucus glop, but we all found it extremely unappetizing. The dodo wasn't plantains, it was just some bananas with bell pepper strips and the 'puff' was anything but and our cousin couldn't even bite through it. Our waiter never returned to check on us, I can only assume he knew exactly the experience we were having. Throughout our meal some guy was wandering around the dining room on his phone. I can't be sure if he worked there, he was still wandering around when we left. The portions alone were hilariously overpriced without accounting for inedibility. Ultimately they removed the fish and the puff and apologized, but that's all the concession we received. Don't eat here. Don't walk in here. I truly have never had such a terrible experience in a restaurant.

this food is like mush, asun is like one of my favorite meals and i’ve never had it served like this before they charge 16 for a spoon full of food. never again i normally go to FABS and they never disappoint and the meat is tender and actual pieces and it’s 11.99 for more food i would never recommend this place i moved close by and decided to try it and i regret that decision. i REPEAT DO NOT order the ASUN the other items might be good just not this one they should take it from the menu ASAP!!!!
