As if Allegro couldn't get any better, they created donuts!
I've never found a bakery that does what Allegro does, their cinnamon rolls are magic! Honorable mention for their chocolate chip cookies, or honestly anything they carry! I recommend this to anyone visiting the Pittsburgh area. I have many friends who aren't vegan and still say they're the best cinnamon rolls they've ever had.

Don’t be scared off by the fact that it’s a vegetarian/vegan bakery — the breads and pastries here are sensational!
I highly recommend the cinnamon roll. It’s different from the traditional ones and made with laminated dough, which makes it extra special.
Like most bakeries in Pittsburgh, the moment you walk in, the smell really sticks to your clothes and hair — especially the za’atar. Just something to keep in mind!

Along w/ Apteka, Allegro was the highlight of our Pittsburgh visit. Everything we ordered—7 items—was perfect. Eager to return.

Great sandwiches, breads, and bakery items.
Best cinnamon roll i’ve ever had and I’m not a huge fan of cinammon rolls. It was simply fantastic! Updated from previous review on 2025-12-30
Had soup, baba ganoush, bread, and the best cinnamon rolls in the world . They also carry Rebel cheese!!
Well worth the little trek from downtown. Got a Seitan Melt sandwich a variety of pastries to try. All of the pastries were delicious - flavorful without being overly sweet. The sandwich I choose was good (the housemade bread was AMAZING), but a bit on the salty/heavy side - I think this was more about the one I choose though as others seem to have lots of fresh veggies. So next time I go (and there will definitely be a next time), I think a fresher sandwich might have more balanced flavors. Also just a note that there isn’t seating inside, so it’s definitely a grab and go kind of spot.
Great pastries and sandwiches. Would recommend ordering pastries in advance because they sell out! Only downside is the inside is very small and has nowhere to sit and eat.
The seitan melt sandwich was incredible. As soon as I walked in I knew I was going to have a hard time choosing which pastries I wanted. I wish I lived in Pittsburgh so I could come back regularly!
Everything I had was so delicious. The customer service was incredible and the man behind the counter had some beautiful eyes. But no seriously, you have to come here if you are in the area. Tasty sandwiches, amazing danishes and treats. The the bread….. ughhhh the bread!!!! To die for.

The most special and incredible bakery in town! Especially love the raspberry danish, giant, chocolate chip cookie, cinnamon roll, and the sandwiches! The sandwiches
Such an incredible vegan bakery that never tastes as as though an ingredient is lacking. The artichoke sourdough and cruffins are my favorites!!!!!!
