The charcuterie platter appetizer has some really good cheeses, 2 kinds of salami, and prosciutto. I got the rack of lamb, which was very tasty, and my wife got the fish special, which was every bit as good as the chilean sea bass. The service is top notch.

This place it cute. The food is decent. Technical execution is good however many of the dishes lack depth of flavor, complexity or a complete concept. I always wanted something more from each dish be it salt, flavor or texture. It's also the first time I've encountered a share fee for split entrees. That's an interesting concept. My husband and I went here for dinner in December 2023 and we got the sea bass which was amazing! We got the sea bass again when we went this past weekend August 2025 and they changed the sea bass recipe. It wasn't nearly as good as it used to be—we really hope they revert back to the old recipe!

Altius is a very nice restaurant. That said, it really is not outstanding. There are restaurants in Pittsburgh with far better food. If you want a truly high end dining experience, I'd go elsewhere, although the views of the city are spectacular, the staff were very friendly, and the service and food were certainly good.
This was our 2nd visit to this restaurant. Food was good, but not outstanding like our 1st time visiting. Cocktail drink was awful. Very bitter tasting. Service was friendly and attentive, but did nothing for our anniversary like they did the previous year. I would go back, it's not my favorite restaurant.

Well done! We were along the wine wall but two our of four of us had a great view. The food was fantastic as per our other visits. The sea bass special was sublime. Many kudos to our server and the manager for checking on us during our meal. Dessert was a great choice although full from dinner. Thank you for a great dinner and wonderful experience.
