Great service, food and ambience. We were seated immediately upon arrival (a Friday at 815 pm) and we loved that they rapidly cleaned up the best window table in the house for us. Server Kate is top notch. Amuse bouche soup (cauliflower with truffle) was the best item we had. Paired nicely with the fun arrival snack of jalapeño cheddar popcorn. The focaccia was great when slathered in a flavorful herb butter. Apps: Lobster bisque was yummy and rich. I liked the addition of peanuts to the duck bao for crunch. The horseradish based sauce was salty and slightly overwhelmed the duck flavor. Our entrees (duck and scallops/shrimp special) were expertly prepared and delicious. Purple potato puree was a bit gluey in texture, but tasted fine. The maitre'd stopped by to be sure all was well. Dessert menu could be a little more varied/interesting; we passed as we were quite sated at that point. Altius is doing dinner right.

Took 5 people and myself for casual business dinner. Service was impeccable. Staff was completely knowledgeable of wine list and menu items, down to where they were sourced. I ordered the tomahawk pork chop. It was deliciously seasoned. I accepted the chef's recommendation of medium. The presentation was more on the medium well to well side. Nevertheless, everything else was impeccable and not a single guest had anything but positive reviews. Oh, and my old fashioned was one of the best I've ever had and the pour was quite generous. Overall this is the most impressive restaurant in Pittsburgh in terms of scoring high in five categories: food + service + cocktails + view + ambience.

The food and service was excellent. I requested a window seat for my birthday & they were more than accommodating. The only thing that was bothersome was a foul fish-like odor we experienced when we were seated. I would dine there again.
Altius has been our go to for special occasions for a number of years we can't remember if we were ever disappointed

Altius is always a must when we visit Pittsburgh! As always, our experience was flawless from start to finish. Luke crafted the best pre-dinner drinks, adding a creative twist to our Paper Plane cocktail with citrus peel airplane punch-outs...such a fun and memorable touch! Colton provided exceptional service and thoughtful recommendations, and he didn't even blink when we ordered more food than most people would...we showed him how it's done! Everything, from the cocktails to the service and the food, was outstanding. We can't wait to return to Pittsburgh and dine at Altius again next year!

An overall great experience! Food and drink were excellent, particularly loved the cocktails. Server was knowledgeable, pleasant, and always anticipating the next need. The ambience was top-notch and the view unbeatable.

Seated very promptly, the view of the city was amazing, loved the complimentary pop corn. Bread was warm and delious. 2 of our party had lamb chops, cooked to order, were perfect and delious, 2 had the chicken, also delious, no complaints from us at all. Deserts very different from the norm, with a nice selection. Prices a little on the high side, but you know that before you go there. Would recommend for a special occasion.
