The food was excellent. Had the seafood dinner with lobster tail. It was cooked well. I suggest checking this place out.

Amel's is top of the line Mediterranean cuisine and my favorite go-to for baba gannouj. They have an extensive menu (including American fare) and always have several dinner specials. My favorites: stuffed eggplant, mazze platter, tabbulee, grape leaves and lamb shish kabob. The beet salad is excellent. Their seafood specials are always fresh and delicious! The swordfish kabob is outstanding if it's on special. Entrees include a stellar Amel's salad and warm pita bread. There's a separate bar with patio seating and a small bar in the dining room. Embellishing a great dinner is a warm and colorful ambiance of many hanging lamps, and the romantic mural on the wall will captivate your imagination! I've enjoyed dining here for years, and it offers good service and a moderately priced menu. Amel's is one of the few restaurants where you can enjoy a late dinner or small plates and cocktails. They are open until 11 pm Monday through Saturday. If you are looking for a big hit for a party try the mazza platter. I thoughtful friend added it to my birthday party menu. It contains, the dips, taboulee, artichoke hearts, stuffed grape leaves and pita. It can also be also vegan friendly and gluten-free, and everyone loved it!

We celebrated my birthday at Amel's on a recent Saturday night during Valentine's Day week. The restaurant was quite full but without reservations we were quickly seated and received excellent service. We ordered hummus as our appetizer which was delicious! My dinner was the chicken taboo which was served with a tasty salad. My meal exceeded my expectations and my husband felt the same about his! This is such a cozy restaurant which made for a wonderful date night!

I have been to this restaurant many times now. It used to be just Middle Eastern however they now have a huge seafood menu. We have gotten multiple entrees off the menu and it is all delicious! The restaurant is old but cozy and romantic. Weekends are super busy - you really need a reservation unless you go early or late.

The food was good!! The service was good. But they refused to switch us from a booth to a table. It was extremely tight and not very comfortable while we were eating. I won't be back anytime soon but I will eventually go back.

So good. Everything I had was excellent - only gave 4 stars instead of 5 because my husband said although his filet mignone was a good cut and cooked well, it easily not seasoned. Also, the grape leaves are very small. I had the stuffed flounder which was excellent. We also had the Mediterranean appetizer assortment. It was very good as well. The Tiramisu cake is to die for. I will definitely be back!

Came for an early dinner with our 2 year old and everything was great! Ordered the Mezza Platter for an app and it came out super quick. Husband had the Mixed Grill Kebab and I had the Braised Lamb Shank. Absolutely delicious. Plates were cleared in a timely manner and the next course came out immediately after. Great service, great food, great atmosphere. Highly recommend!

I have always loved Amel's, despite its rather cramped quarters on a busy night! The food is consistently delicious, and their stuffed grapeleaves are to die for! They're meaty and lemony and savory, just a great combination! Their tabbouleh is legendary for its freshness, and I love it! It has been a fixture in my life since I was a small boy, and the nostalgia I get when I eat there today is palpable. Don't ever change!

This is one of the best kept secrets in Pittsburgh. It still feels like 1965 in there as they provide classic 5 star meals with a Mediterranean accent. Each dish is astoundingly good, especially the house salad. The service is always excellent and the portions are generous. I go to the fanciest places in town for education dinners all the time and Amel's is superior in every way.
