The food was okay. The specialty hand rolls are rather expensive for what you get compared to what I've had at other sushi restaurants. I've had sushi here a few times and bought similar rolls, but they looked and tasted different each time, which was very disappointing.

Andy is a liar. I ordered 2 orders of toro nigiri and he started cutting a whitefish that clearly was not toro. My girlfriend questioned him because she is a genius and eats toro 5+ nights a week so she knew that it wasn’t toro and he kept assuring us that it was toro and “fatty like bacon”. We still knew he was lying and ate the fish and it was tough and chewy and not good. Andy is a scammer and liar, the fish was clearly escolar (white tuna). Do not order “toro” from Liar’s sushi bar!! I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, but he lost my respect. See ya NEVER again Andy. The fish market is outstanding, Andy is NOT. The entire time he was making the sushi he kept complaining about how he wanted to go home and didn’t want to be there.

Had the good fortune to order a few sushi dishes from Andy. Although he had just gotten to his booth, he was in good humor and energetic. He set to work without complaint and was impressive to watch. He was a great showman with astonishing knife skills. The price for the volume and quality of sushi is hard to beat. Highly recommended.

Bad quality sushi, cash only, charged more than supposed to. Had stomachache after the non fresh fish. So-called Toro is terrible, not real tuna toro. All of the seafood colors look super off.

Andy's incredible sushi-making skills completely changed my opinion about sushi. Back in 2007, my friends persuaded me to take a bite at a sushi store, even though I had a bad previous experience. That one bite completely transformed my love for sushi, and I haven't been able to stop eating it since then!

Best Sushi near the DLCC. And Andy is always so friendly and happy to chat while serving. Go here any time I'm in the area.
