This was our third time here. The first time was not great but the last two visits have been very good. We were celebrating a birthday with a group of 7 adults and 1 child. We all thought both the beef and corn empanadas were excellent. Everyone enjoyed the steaks both the filet and ribeye. The consensus was the chorizo could use a little more spice. Our waiter was excellent, attentive and helped me find a very good wine. It is pricy but good for a special occasion. We would go back.
From the Crudo to the Argentinian steak, we enjoyed every bite. Service was top-notch as well. Wonderful, fun vibe.
Service was great. Brent and the support staff were very helpful and attentive. Food was terrific.
This is our 2nd time here and everything we chose and our friends chose was nothing less than amazing.
The food was excellent. The Tuna appetizer was fantastic. The Filet was also fantastic and my wife and I split it and ordered the Super mashed potatoes and the tasty and fresh Caesar salad. Dante, our waiter was also very nice and professional. It was our anniversary and he made it special. Thanks very much!
A wonderful dining experience! Our server Brent was amazing, vert friendly and helpful! The food was absolutely delicious and fun to eat! The wine list is very extensive with all price points. We hope to go back again soon!!
The food was excellent and the wait staff was friendly and very knowledgable about the menu. The only small issue was that it was very busy that night and the kitchen was backed up so it took a very long time for our main dishes to arrive. The food was worth it but don't go if you are on a tight time schedule that evening.
Great food and atmosphere which saved the night and we would go again. However, Service suboptimal with multiple mistakes in the order, timing of courses was off - steaks served at same time as small plates. We were also seated right next to the front windows and door when it was single digits outside and frost on the glass. It was freezing.
Great food, pretty good service but we never got the anniversary sparkling wine even after I messaged the restaurant.
The ownership is phenomenal. The service is phenomenal. The food is phenomenal. The atmosphere is phenomenal.

Steak was superior! The next time I will request a booth tho as we were in a table for two squeezed between two other parties.
It's about time Pittsburgh finally has a New York vibe restaurant with great food and ambience. Staff is top-notch.
Balvanera is unquestionably our favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh. Located in the Strip District, it's centrally located and easy to get to. While street parking can be a challenge, there's an indoor lot located on the right hand side of the venue that's convenient. The food is always delicious. We've never had a bad meal/dish. The ambience is great, service impeccable. My wife and I typically split an entree (the Argentinian steaks are so good) and we also share appetizers. Their Caesar salad is delicious, too. Best empanadas in Pittsburgh! Desserts are homemade and really good! Our special place. Love it there and the owners are great, too. You want people like this to be successful.
First time visiting this place with friends, some who have been there and some not. We all enjoyed our dinners very much along with our waitress Mary. Mary was very good with her recommendations and explanations of food and also the wine list. Love that it was open on a Sunday evening. Definitely will be back.
Great place to share small plates and some large plates with friends. Drinks are excellent and the everything we tasted was great. Highly recommend.
