I have been going here since I was a child and it was the Samurai in the ‘80s. I took my family again at the start of this Easter weekend for supper. I will start off by saying the food is still the best tasting around compared to almost all the Hibachis in the area. From the soup, the salad dressing to the main course. All that being said this may be our last visit until they do something about the restaurant and the service and staff. The entire restaurant needs closed and deep cleaned. The floor and the railings are all sticky, food, dirt, cob webs all over the dining area. The table itself was sticky, and WOW the grills had food all over them. When I say food I don't mean a little bit from the last meal served that night. I was able to look at several tables to see if it was just ours, because we were one of the first reservations of the evening so I was able to look around before it filled up. This food was leftover from god knows how long. Being a cook myself it's disgusting and well very unhealthy. Now for the staff, the only ones that were cordial and pleasant were the hostesses at the door. The bartender was rude every time I went up to ask questions, like he was bothered to answer patrons questions about the alcohol he was serving. The girl working the sushi bar was the same way. She also has no idea how to make sushi properly. All of the different sushi we ordered fell apart completely when trying to pick it up. After bringing our soup and salad we didn't see our waitress till the end! You used to get things like bowls when asking for extra stuff like salad dressing, now it's a small plastic cup with a lid. Your tea at the end used to have a tea pot on the grill for you to enjoy, now you get one cup half full. This place needs a serious overhaul if it wants to continue, from the building itself to the incompetent staff they need to do some soul searching here.

We have loved dining at Benihana for the past 25-30 years. The food is excellent. The service is always professional, friendly and efficient. When our daughter was growing up, she often requested to go to Benihana for her birthday. She would invite some of her friends and we would sit at one of the grilling tables where the chef would cook our food amid a remarkable demonstration of skills. It was fun. In more recent years we have opted to sit at a table in the bar area and just have the prepared meal served to us there. Since we were celebrating my now adult daughter's birthday, we made a reservation for 6 people to eat at the bar. The reservation was accepted. However, when we arrived at the restaurant, we discovered that the tables for 6 had been replaced, in the bar area, by booths for 4 people. Consequently, we had to split our group and sit in 2 different booths. We were not happy nor was the wait staff who stated that the option for reservations at the bar should be removed from their reservation system. I agree since sitting separately was not something we wanted to do.
