This place was an embarrassment, I brought my beautiful date just to ruin the night with soggy bread, and not crispy chicken. It literally tasted like a 13$ mcchicken. Save your money and taste buds and go somewhere else.

Stopped in mid afternoon on a Friday-perfect time to beat the rush. Didn't realize the one side is for take out/pick-up (until we saw the signs on the doors) and the other door we went into was a bar with tables. No one was in there except the bar tender/waitperson but he immediately greeted us and let us know how to order-directly to him. Anyway-it's a rather dark, trendy bar/restaurant area with corrugated steel on the walls (former steelworker here lol). I ordered the chicken sandwich with "No Heat" and my wife ordered hers with #1 heat level (waitperson told us it's basically a Cajun spice). We also made it a combo with the waffle fries and a soft drink. The chicken-according to my wife-is "to die for! Perfectly cooked with none of those grisley, chewy tendon surprises you get elsewhere--you know--you're chowing down on the chicken loving every bite then-bam! A yucky, chewy, disgusting piece of tendon--then-you're done! Nope-this chicken is properly cleaned and prepared. I'd recommend getting at least the #1 spice level because otherwise, the plain is just, PLAIN. But the crunch on that chicken is awesome. The waffle fries are crispy, golden, hot and plentiful. We were stuffed! We also shared a cup of coleslaw but since my wife makes "the best"--well skip it next time. We will definitely return for the best fried chicken we've had in a long time. The waitperson was very nice, helpful and attentive. Restaurant is clean and neat-restroom was also clean which tells you a lot about the rest of the place! Great job Bird On The Run--you've got a winner there!

I'm a huge fan of hot chicken?? and Bird on the Run is really good. Simple menu of crispy chicken tenders or a sandwich. The crispy waffle fries are yummy. The beignets were good but doughy- I'd pass on them next time.

This is such an amazing hole in the wall restaurant! We stopped in with friends and we all had a little of everything on the menu. I had the Lil Chunky’s Chicken Deluxe combo and when I tell you it is the BEST, Juiciest chicken sandwich I’ve ever had and I mean it! I will be having dreams about that sandwich until we come back again! The portions are huge and the kids loved everything so much that they didn’t even talk while eating! Only suggestions are 1. Please come to Butler and 2. We need Flippin the Bird T-Shirts!

Not sure how they separate their levels of heat... I ordered three 12 piece combos in a 1,2, and 3 level. All three can out the same.

The food here was great, but the service and atmosphere was non existent. It seems like this is just a quick place to grab a carry out order on a lunch break.

READ MEOkay, so if you’ve had bird on the run in the south side, these two are not even close to the same. The SS gives you this huge, juicy chicken sandwich with a fresh bun and toppings. We visited east lib yesterday in a pinch and yuck, I will never go back there. The sandwich was so small, I’m not kidding, it was half the size of the SS location. The bottom bun was rock hard and the fries were all soggy: Not ONE single crispy fry. Not sure if these are franchised, etc, BUT I would stay far away from the East Lib location. Not worth the money or time. Oh and lastly (not at the restaurants fault) but we had a “crackhead” visit while eating and that was the icing on the cake.Of note, the team member was friendly and accommodating.

Food is tasty, but fries get skimped on at this location. Prefer Penn Hills.

Not gonna lie. I was just getting off work adi was starving gang. But I got a chicken sandwich combo RIP flavor and it blew my socks off. This is one of my favorite spots to go to.Wheelchair accessibility: The main entrance is right on the street. And it's one floor. Parking sucks for real because it's East Liberty so depending on the time of day you may have to park across the street at the garage.

Got a chicken sandwich, and fries. Overall just disappointed. Chicken Sandwich tasted tough, and not very tender.

Just ordered from Bird On The Run off of Highland Ave and found a huge piece of plastic IN MY SANDWICH. Big enough size to choke somebody, given how hard and jagged the piece was. Can easily get stuck in someone's throat or windpipe. It looks like one of the plastic ties for bagel bags (sharp and jagged). Very disturbing and appalling.

Good chicken sandwich! Not crazy flavorful but good texture on the fried chicken and a nice bun. I'd recommend adding lettuce for some extra crunch. The waffle fries are good too!Not much of a sit down spot, more of a grab-and-go or delivery spot. There is some indoor seating though.

Overall a bit pricy for what you get.Pros:I like the fried chicken, right amount of oil and crunchiness for me. We waited for less than 5 min to get our food.Cute wallpaper. Lovely background music.Cons:The bread seems a bit stale and there wasn't much going on inside the sandwich. I don't think have an option to add/adjust toppings.

This place was really really good when it first open and is now a place I won’t spend my money at. I got a fish sandwich last night and it was so soggy with grease it was falling apart, the bread was cold and mushy and it t was fully over loaded with sauce. It was a mess and it didn’t taste good.
