I've had Black Sheep BBQ at various breweries around the Burgh and being a vegetarian, I truly appreciate that Tony caters to different dietary needs. The food is always on point and you can tell Tony truly enjoys making food and feeding people!

Shout out to Yelp Elite's Ed L. and Catherine L. for telling me about this amazing pizza! Tony from Black Sheep BBQ does catering, pop ups, and has a kitchen in Thunderbird Cafe. You can find Tony's pizza at Maggie's Farm Distillery for Friday happy hour 4-6 pm (or until sell out) where he features specialty pizza by the slice. One slice is equivalent to two square slices. There is always a vegan, vegetarian, and pepperoni option, plus two specialty pizzas rotate weekly. Some of our favorites were the gyro pizza, margherita with smoked mozzarella, pulled bbq jackfruit with red onions and smoked mozzarella, meatloaf pizza, and more. The pizza is stacked high with toppings. The slices range from $5-$6 dollars and are heated up and delivered to your table quickly. My boyfriend, family, and I have become regulars at Maggie's, and look forward to this pizza every week. I probably wouldn't have gone to Thunderbird specifically for BBQ since I am pescatarian, but now that I found this great pizza I want to try more from Black Sheep BBQ (specifically the fried smoked mozzarella balls). Get to happy hour early especially if you want a slice of the specialty pizza. Special thanks to Tony for setting a slice of zucchini pizza aside for me last week when I was late to happy hour. :)

So happy I was able to try these guys at their pop-up at Maggies Farm! I would never expect a barbecue place to make amazing pizza but they do just that! check them out on Instagram at @blacksheepbarbecue to see what specials they have. There are always three different pies available and none will disappoint.

I tried the BBQ chicken at Maggie’s farm last night and it was delicious. Just the right amount of heat and flavor. The owner is really cool.
