Very basic coffee options but the breakfast is delicious and so is the artisanal breads. Really enjoyed our visit and plan on going back

2nd trip here - changed up service to counter only. Order at counter, grab a table and they bring you your order. Food delicious as last time. Homemade baked goods - my wife loves their English muffins - used in their breakfast sandwiches and available for separate purchase. Sandwiches are huge. Get to Mt Oliver before summer 24 when they relocate to New Brighton. You won't be disappointed.

Tasty food and a good atmosphere. It is a little pricey, but the food is good. It wasn't the best biscuits and gravy I've ever had. Overall I would recommend trying it out. The breakfast sandwiches were a big hit in my

Unique cafe not far from the city in an area that has recently undergone a bit of a revitalization. The cafe was very clean, trendy and modern. They make excellent breads and baked goods. They serve Commonplace Coffee. They have a small but mighty brunch menu. I tried the cheddar and tomato omelette and it was delicious.

Soooo yummy. I want to buy all the breads and baked goods but highly recommend the English muffins. The staff was kind and service was quick, plus it's so cute inside. The breakfast sandwich was outstanding and I will be back!!

Tried this place out and heard about it on "I'll call you right back podcast" this place is awesome and delicious options for someone like me who likes different things. I recommend. Next time I come in I want to hear some opera singing by the owner.

What a wonderful place to go for breakfast !!! Our breakfast friends really enjoyed our morning! The stuffed French toast with berry compote is amazing !! Every bite tasted soooo good ! The cheese omelet and home fries were outstanding too ! We also took 2 loaves of fociaccia bread, ( fresh from the oven !) and a pack of homemade English muffins.. so soft and fresh ! You must visit Brown Bear Bread Cafe ! Excellent service , beautiful decor .. a warm , welcoming spot ! Go ... there.... soon !!!! We can't wait to return!

The Brown Bear Bread Cafe is a phenomenal cafe located in the Mt. Oliver neighborhood. Restaurants like Brown Bear Bread Cafe cause you to take notice and they bring droves of people to less frequented neighborhoods like Mt. Oliver. I'm not sure I've ever even heard of Mt. Oliver until I came across Brown Bear Bread Cafe, and now I won't be able to forget it! Nestled on a busy street in Mt. Oliver, upon entering the cafe, you are welcomed with a large wooden door that effortlessly shows you the fun, natural, and somewhat funky aesthetic of the cafe. The owners used some of the natural, exposed walls that creates an urban vibe within the cafe. With the kitchen on the 3rd floor, there's seating on both the 1st & 2nd floors both allowing for a quaint and cozy vibe. Their menu is small but mighty. The cafe has brunch at 10 AM but opens at 8. They male their own bread and pastries in house, and they are always concocting new bread creations. All the food that we tasted was an explosion of flavors that was diverse and complex. A meal that may sound so simple at the Brown Bear Bread Cafe ends up being creative, well seasoned, and like nothing you've ever had before! Here's what my husband & I had: [The Big Pig]: This sandwich was a special but made it to the permanent menu, and I now know why. This sandwich was bursting with flavor from the bacon scallion cream cheese to the spicy syrup to the sausage and bacon bits. This sandwich has it all and more than what you even knew you needed. [Sweet Potato Hash]: This hash is so good that I could eat it every day. It's perfectly seasoned with a mix of onions and kale. I loves everything about it, even sharing it with my husband! I cannot wait to go back here and try some of their new specials. They also started selling bagels again in the cafe. What can't this cafe do?!?
