It was busy, a little loud because we were sitting at the bar. The food was excellent as well as the service

We visited last week and were disappointed in the food. For context, we dined here two months ago and had the best burger, fries and pirogies we’ve ever had.

The buns for our burgers were burnt, and the fries were undercooked. The kids got burgers and they were absolutely burnt, which was difficult for them to eat. Service was great, the kitchen was just off their game that day

We went to celebrate a birthday and were very impressed. The staff in the bar area was super friendly and accommodating. It was some of the best food I've had in a long time. The French onion soup was cheesy and delicious. The pierogies were phenomenal. The burger was well season and the sauce was tasty. The fries were the star of the show. They aren't greasy at all, and were fried to perfection. I would say that the bar can get a bit loud and the tables are pretty close to each other, so ask for the dining room if you want a more intimate setting (but youd miss out on the happy hour drinks and apps).

Update : went back to try again and was dissapointed. Everything was kinda lacking quality and some touch. Burger buns were burnt. Fries were undercooked.

Really cute vibes and a nice place for a meal with solid drinks and sandwiches!

Butterjoint had a casual but really nice atmosphere, with some really cute decorations. Their house cocktails were all pretty unique and interesting, my favorite was the sage and grapefruit one, nice strong flavors.

Fancy chicken sandwich was fantastic, chicken fried perfectly with kimchi and sauce with a little kick, definitely recommend. The tallow fries are also worth it, very crispy with good flavor. Getting any of their sandwiches would be my recommendation honestly.

On the other hand, I think their pierogis are fine, pretty solid but a little over priced at $4 per Perogi for the shared plate. Don’t think it’s a must try, but the sandwiches and desserts are worth coming in for!

It is great to have a Pittsburgh restsurant offer cassoulet every January as Butterjoint does. It was excellent tonight as it has been for years. We look forward to it every year. It is just one dish of so many that is outstanding. The restaurant itself is comfortable and the staff is welcoming. Each visit is a pleasant experience, satisfying, and delicious.

Wow. Dinner was phenomenal! The food was incredible, one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Service was amazing and the ambiance is top notch. The menu has so many great options that it was hard to not order everything. Definitely will be returning and trying it all.

Excellent service & excellent food. Visiting from out of town and made it a point to come here. Made from scratch kitchen is fantastic - we had sauerkraut balls, perogies & kielbasa. Amazing! I have already told others to stop in when they are in Pittsburgh.

We had a larger group and they handled it really well. Food ranged from delicious to somewhat mediocre. I didn't enjoy the falafel or sauerkraut, but the kielbasa and vinegar pie were delicious. Atmosphere was cool and the drink menu was extensive and pretty tasty. Overall had a great time.

Service was perfect, never overbearing, but also we never felt left for too long. We were celebrating my birthday and they just made it feel very special. 10/10!

Butterjoint has quickly become my go-to for lunch and brunch, and I'm looking forward to trying dinner soon. The welcome, the service and the food are wonderful, and the accommodations made for our party were fuss-free and respectful. What a great find!
