It is great to have a Pittsburgh restsurant offer cassoulet every January as Butterjoint does. It was excellent tonight as it has been for years. We look forward to it every year. It is just one dish of so many that is outstanding. The restaurant itself is comfortable and the staff is welcoming. Each visit is a pleasant experience, satisfying, and delicious.
Service was perfect, never overbearing, but also we never felt left for too long. We were celebrating my birthday and they just made it feel very special. 10/10!
Butterjoint has quickly become my go-to for lunch and brunch, and I'm looking forward to trying dinner soon. The welcome, the service and the food are wonderful, and the accommodations made for our party were fuss-free and respectful. What a great find!
Excellent service and experience. Our server was attentive, warm and thoughtful. Great start to a Sunday morning!
Excellent service & excellent food. Visiting from out of town and made it a point to come here. Made from scratch kitchen is excellent - we had sauerkraut balls, perogies & kielbasa. Amazing! I have already told others to stop in when they are in Pittsburgh.
The entire dining experience is elevated. Especially the food, from appetizers & sharables to the entrees & desserts. Phenomenal.
We had soup and moulds grits The union soup was excellent The squash soup not warm enough though tastes The mussels were amazing excellent the best we've ever had!! Definitely a place to return to.
Out of town guests, all of us impressed with the brunch - whole experience, terrific food, a wonderfully knowledgeable and delightful server, very welcoming, perfect time
Very loud; loud music and loud drunk customers with profanity in every sentence, and you cannot unhear it, and such that you cannot hear your friend talk across the table. Food was terrible too, such that I could not eat the Fall Salad and they took it off my bill--without me even asking. They knew it because I left it as is on the plate. The service was great. But if you are going to eat anything other than a burger do not go here.
Butterjoint is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is consistently interesting and wonderful. The atmosphere is warm, cozy, and friendly. The servers are outstanding and very knowledgeable about the food and drinks. My daughter and I have celiac disease and the servers make it easy to navigate that as well. We celebrated my husband's birthday there last night and everything was excellent as always. Highlights were the fish pate and pickled shrimp appetizers and the crab cakes and salmon entrees. My husband loves the vinegar pie. He and my daughter ordered the bartender's mercy craft cocktails and each one was unique. They loved them!

We went here for our first meal as a married couple. My wife had heard great things online about Butterjoint but we are not from the area so we have never been. This place was incredible! Our food was just perfect and so delicious. The ambiance was cozy, warm and romantic. I would highly recommend their champagne soda, it was nothing like I've ever had before and so delicious. We love good food and we are so excited to come back since we will be moving to the area soon. Butterjoint is the perfect place for a lovey dinner with your spouse or partner.
My wife and I went there for Sunday brunch and we are glad we did. The food was fresh and very tasty. Service was exceptional. Would highly recommend!
Great service. The crab cake crumpets were a big hit and the vinegar pie and cheesecake were awesome desserts. Nice brunch! Our waiter was very accommodating and overall we had a great time.
We booked this restaurant after trying two others that were full up and are very happy that we lucked out. The service was particularly great (Alyssa?) and the food was excellent. It is very affordable for the quality and the only possible negative is the fact one must park on the street instead of a lot. We would definitely return!
Butterjoint is always great and I like that they are continuously, but cautiously, adding new items to the menu. Last night it was the ribeye chili - get it with the jalapeño slices - to die for.
