A lovely little hole-in-the-wall diner in the strip district! The decor is adorable but the lighting is pretty dim. We barely had to wait before getting a table on a Saturday afternoon. The drink selection is kind of limited, but they have a lot of food options. The bagel sandwich was flavorful, and the veggie omelet was excellent. The crepe with berries and goat cheese was delicious, although it was the smallest portion of the three and probably should have cost less for the size. Our server seemed a little impatient, although it was less than an hour from closing and way too hot out, so I dont hold it against anyone. I would recommend this place if you're looking for brunch food and a quiet spot with friends.

The food was absolutely delicious! I wish there were more drink options but I really cant complain for what they do have.
Im a sucker for french toast and theirs is delicious. My soster got a crepe that she enjoyed. The prices are good too.
The inside is smaller and we were a little confused waiting for a table for a bit if they noticed us or nor. So beware of that potential issue youd endure
The inside decor is cute though. I love the umbrellas and the Pittsburgh mural.
It was a good spot to try, i would return after a while.

Food was good, coffee was below mid (they gave us hot lattes in plastic cups that was mixed with chocolate milk… not the move), but the issue was with the service. They brought out the check that we needed split but couldn’t “split it” properly… and the itemized check did not have the prices next to it so you take it up front for them to portion it out and as they would take each item they would add it into a calculator and each time they would call out an item they would up charge the item in front of us thinking we didn’t catch it. We then said that the price was not right and that we got pancakes, bagel…. And he realized we were onto him. Re typed it in and still didn’t get it right and was acting oblivious to what was happening. Then tried having us cover our friends items that he said he forgot on there’s when they also over payed. I don’t like to put these kind of reviews out there but this was one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve ever had at a cafe for such mid food and drink. I do not recommend. Wish I got that guys name to put on here because he is likely the issue.

Lovely place to dine!
The food even better! Great service and all is handmade, had the “South” omelette came with delicious seedy bread and yummy spinach salad with tasty balsamic dressing . Very generous portions.
Excellent coffee too!
We stopped in recently and the breakfast was something else. In a great way. Just look at the pics. The taste was everything you'd hope it would be and the service was great too. We will be back.

Food great but server was not very friendly (maybe having a bad day). The decor was fun to look at & plating also adorable. Sucker for a good & clean bathroom.

Nice place with peaceful atmosphere. Service was good.
But you can tell they’re really trying to make money on smaller portions as compared to Deluca’s or Raymond’s. A measly half slice (if that) of buttered bread on the side? A kid sized scoop of home fries? The omelets were average in flavor and mostly just egg.
Given the breakfast options nearby, I doubt I will be back any time soon. Hopefully others have had better experiences.

It was my first time at Caffe Mona around noon this past Saturday and we were greeted & seated right away! It’s a vibe in there between the artwork by local artists, hanging umbrellas, and the open concept with the front open. It might look touristy at first glance, but it’s actually a chill local spot & the food was incredible. My BLT on sourdough (egg, cheddar, mayo) was unreal, and the home fries were A+. My mom got the Chevre Omelette (sun-dried tomatoes, baby spinach, goat cheese) and loved it. Definitely high-quality ingredients. The coffee was solid. Maybe it was just an off day, but the staff didn’t seem thrilled to be there, though they were definitely fast and efficient, and everyone else (including us) appeared to be having a great time. I’ll be back 100% for the food alone, the rest is just a bonus!
