😊👍🏽
This place is really close to perfect. The menu is great, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the space is wonderful. They have outdoor seating, standard indoor seating, and a lovely back area with desks and high tops and sofas. It's a great place to go for a quick to-go, or to take your computer and spend the afternoon surfing or doing work. Pittsburgh needs more places like this one.
Got a blt which was 10/10, then got a turkey Asiago, a Western, three cold brews with some syrups and was a little mediocre 😭 I hate to say that because I wanna support small business but the coffee and more than half the food was disappointing
Located on California Avenue in Brighton Heights, just a short trip from the North Side, California Coffee Bar is the cutest little neighborhood shop. It’s stocked with delicious bagels, sandwiches, smoothies, milkshakes, bowls, coffee, and other tasty drinks. The vibe is warm and welcoming, with a well-designed interior and plenty of tables if you want to dine in.
You can walk in to order, place your order online for pickup, or even get delivery—super convenient! The staff is incredibly friendly and sweet, making the experience even better.
I tried a Blueberry Coffee Cake latte from their seasonal menu, and it tasted exactly like a fresh blueberry coffee cake—so good! I also had an Asiago bagel with cream cheese, which was fresh and satisfying. And the Acai Power Bowl was a highlight: a blended purée of frozen acai juice, Greek yogurt, and banana, topped with granola, berries, and dark chocolate shavings. It was both delightful and healthy.
You really can’t go wrong here. Whether you’re stopping in for a cozy coffee or grabbing a bite to go, California Coffee Bar is a neighborhood gem worth visiting.
This is my flavafav Sunday breakfast. The staff is super accommodating and friendly. No matter how busy they are my order is always correct and delicious. Yinz rock!
I enjoy coming here when I’m in the neighborhood! They make you feel welcome and like you’re part of the community.
Ordered three sandwiches, and two of them were totally wrong. I’m very shocked by it! They forgot the egg on the Western and they added cheese to a build your own when I didn’t ask for cheese. They were also just OK - nothing to go out of my way for or get again. The acai bowl was also not impressive, I’ve made better at home. The coffee, though, was very good! I got a cold brew and my friend got a chai latte with an extra shot of espresso-she loved it.

Really cozy place with ample space downstairs and a nice upstairs area. Friendly and fast service. Only drawback are the prices...fairly high price for a cup of standard coffee, and specialty coffee's (lattes, Americano, etc.) push close to $5.

Cutest and wonderful little coffee shop. Front of store has plenty of cozy seating. Baristas were very polite and nice to talk to. Farther in the back is more seating. Really great experience
Not a coffee drinker but their sandwiches are excellent! I especially recommend The Western.
Decent coffee. Only downside was the vibe. There was too much going on in the coffee shop, and it felt disorganized, similar to the abstract modern art hanging on the wall. I felt confused.

I love this place. Their espresso drinks are amazing; the latte ratio makes for a bold drink which is great if you like the taste of the coffee itself. Sandwiches, smoothies, and bagels are also really good and super affordable. Most importantly, the staff is always friendly without exception. I wouldn’t change anything.
