The food isn't good tasting 😕 😪.

Everything is delicious. Shrimp n Grits, ribs, greens, chicken sandwiches. EVERYTHING! The owner Carleen makes everything with Love. The new stuffed Turkey Legs 🍗 are 🔥

I haven’t visited this place in a while today’s experience was horrible. I got the smoked chicken it was very hard, mac and cheese was just ok and sweet potatoes which I didn’t receive when I mentioned it I was told i could purchase some. Which was unusual because that meal usually comes with two sides. The pie I ordered was supposed to be sweet potato pie It was not.

After cheating on Carmi’s and trying other soul food restaurants in Pittsburgh.

I AM BACK BABY. No other soul food restaurant deserves a 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 in the burgh.

Never knew of this place, I was originally gonna go nextdoor to Hook N Fish but saw this place and figured I’d try it. So glad I did! I was warmly greeted and could tell the food was made with love, heart, and soul. I ordered the catfish and grits meal though I’ve never found grits that I liked. These grits however, where on a whole other level, they were seasoned to perfection and to me, tasted like cheesy mashed potatoes, best grits I’ve ever had!
The catfish was seasoned to perfection and was delicious! You could tell they make the food with love. I will be back.

This claims to be open , but it’s closed, we from out of town looking for some great soul drove over there o the address a nd close when they have open online.what a waste of time. SMH”

This place has really good food and I love supporting them but every single time I try to call them NO ONE ever picks up the phone/the phone call just clicks off/the voicemail is full. It's truly frustrating because once again their food is really good. Hopefully this major issue gets fixed! I didn't give any stars toward their atmosphere because I've never eaten inside the restaurant.

I only gave these people one star because that was the lowest. The southside location was closed but they did not have anything posted on line or on the door saying they were closed for repairs. I then drove to the Northside location and they had NOTHING! it was early morning so they should have had food. I WILL NEVER ATTEMPT TO PATRONIZE THIS PLACE AGAIN! THEY HAVE GONE DOWNHILL!

DO NOT ORDER ONLINE. Tried to order online for pick up. It says they are open on the website, and only allow pick up from the north side branch. Paid online and went in person but it’s closed. Tried calling but number doesn’t work.

Maybe I caught you on a bad day but as someone from the south I’m embarrassed that you called this soul food. No flavor, no sauce. I got Mac and cheese, brisket, meatloaf, and mashed potatoes. How can you smoke brisket and it have no flavor?? The meatloaf looks like pig brains. I’m so sad I chose to spend my money on this in hopes of getting comfort food.

In my efforts to buy Black and spend Black, I took my daughter there while we visited "home" during COVID. The experience was less than desirable, yet understandable because of the pandemic. During our recent visit, we viewed people eating Burger King takeout seated at the window - peculiar to say the least. We asked if it was dine in and we're told, "NOPE, EVERYTHING IS TAKE OUT". In astonishment we continued to gaze at the couple SEATED eating BURGER KING!! This is beyond untenable for any establishment let alone a Black one. They'll never see another dime from me or anyone associated with me be it business or personal. We left immediately. DO BETTER.

Ordered through Ubereats….. service was quick. I had wings and macaroni and cheese. The wings were good on the outside very crisp and flavor was really nice . However when I bite into my wings it was really red. They need to cook them just a little more. Macaroni .. was just noodles and cheese nothing special I can taste the Kraft .
