Great sandwichs. We ate outside in the back and you would never know that busy Carson St was right out front.

Drove around an hour to get here and eat, what is rated, as a great place to get sandwhiches. I was very excited as the atmosphere was welcoming and warm. We took our sandwiches home another hour or so drive to get back to our pup at home... come to find out, my sandwhich had no cheese and no apple slices. The Jay sandwhiches had no tomatoes or dressing on them. I may give them a try again, if so I would hope my next experience is better. If i do go again I will update my rating.

This place is an amazing asset to the Southside community. Their food is incredible. And they have a wonderful craft beer selection. The owner and the staff are friendly and attentive. They do a great job!

We had a very disappointing experience at Carson Street Deli. We are 37 and 39 years old (and, frankly, look well over 21), yet when we tried to order a beer & sandwich we were refused service. We presented valid government-issued driver’s licenses, which are the standard form of ID everywhere in Canada, but the staff rejected them and said we would need passports. That is completely unreasonable — who carries a passport to a casual deli? She insisted it was state law (?). but quick research shows that Act No. 39 of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code explicitly states that Canadian drivers license is an acceptable form of ID at liquor establishments.
It felt insulting and frustrating to be treated this way, especially when we were simply trying to enjoy a meal with a drink. If this is their policy, it’s out of step with every other establishment we’ve ever been to. We won’t be coming back.

They just let anyone play loud music and scream into microphones for hours on end.

We got a sandwich for lunch on a Saturday and there were no other customers. The 3 employees were very nice and made us a very delicious sandwich-avocado Gouda day on ciabatta. They offered out dog water because it was such a hot day.
We will return to try more sandwiches!

Fantastic sandwiches made with love and care with the freshest, tastiest ingredients! The roast beef and garlic mayo are mmmmm!

Cute little deli with a great draft list. The sandwiches are always delicious - particularly the Smashley. They also have a nice beer garden that would be perfect on a day that isn’t rainy or uncomfortably hot.

Excellent fresh sandwiches. Great beer selection. Not a rush to get and leave atmosphere. Take some time to enjoy.
Best sandwich in Pittsburgh. Period.
Awesome sandwich shop. Great beer selection. Quick service.
Low quality.
I’m from Baltimore and visited Pittsburgh a few years ago and this Deli spot was the best. By far the best tasting subs I have ever had and great people and atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back
