The food was decent, but we ordered a vegetarian mapo tofu (it was an option on the menu) and it had meat in it. We asked twice about it and were repeatedly told it had no meat.

One of the best Chinese restaurants in Pittsburgh so far. Wish it’s at a better location.

Chengdu Gourmet is the best Chinese food we've ever had in Pittsburgh! The ladies who waited on us were all really nice, and the chef was amazing! We will definitely be back soon.

The food is excellent and authentic Chengdu if you order from the traditional menu. Must try!

Some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. I’m still thinking of the spicy beef noodle soup…

Great place to bring a group of people (especially if you have a vegan in the group and still want to be able to have variety)!

Whenever I’m back in Pittsburgh, I’ll be returning to Chengdu Gourmet.

This is in my regular takeout rotation. When friends and family visit from out of town I like to take them here.

Dishes I recommend: shredded pork in garlic sauce, diced chicken chongqing style, dry sautéed green beans w minced pork, fresh mixed mushroom soup, scallion pancakes, crispy pickled cucumber, Chengdu spicy cold noodle, chongquing special noodle, Dan Dan noodle w minced pork, sichuan style dumplings in red chili.

General tso's was disgustingly undercooked. Possibly raw chicken underneath the gummy breading. Shrimp rolls were okay but still seemed undercooked.

It's really nice and clean inside and looks kind of fancy. Huge menu and everything was so tasty. And kind staff as well.

This place was 10/10 best Chinese food me and hubby have EVER had!
I got the baby bok Choi with black mushrooms and their cold noodle soup. They made everything not spicy for me which l appreciate so much!!
The food was ready in 5 minutes or less and it was just beyond perfection.
Staff were so friendly and attentive making the experience even better.
This place felt like a hidden gem in the city. It wasn’t particularly expensive. I feel we got what we paid for and beyond!
Hubby got the green cracked pepper chicken appetizer which came cold and the black bean paste and beef hot noodle soup.
Hubby said he never thought he’d like cold chicken, but that dish blew his mind. So so good you must go here!

Went there for Christmas and I’ve gotten takeout a few times. The food is always amazing. The atmosphere has a local vibe, the service was awesome the time I ate at the restaurant. They were busy but everything came out at a good pace and tasted fine.

I think their food tastes great and is quite authentic to Sichuan style, served in large bowls. You can also request extra rice at no additional charge. The cold chicken dish has been especially good so far.

The restaurant offers plenty of indoor seating, including large tables for big groups. During peak hours it can get very busy, and the wait can be long. However, most of the time they have some seating available—though on Friday nights and holidays, it’s best to check ahead before you go.

Excellent Chinese food. They have both American style and authentic Chinese style entrees.

Lunch specials are plentiful.

I often get take out.

I highly recommend trying them.
