Prior to our visit to Pittsburgh, we read that Wei Zhu is considered one of the top chefs in the city. So we intentionally dined at the McKnight Rd location because we were told in advance he was cooking there that day. Our server said each dish was tailored for a single-serving portion, but we wanted family-style so our table of three shared five dishes: -- beef tongue special $28.99 -- green beans with eggplant $12.99 -- Chongqing special noodles $11.99 -- fish fillet with pickled cabbage $28.99 -- cumin lamb $19.99 We were glad that we could specify the preferred degree of spiciness for each dish. Except for the beef tongue, the food was prepared well. Our favorite dish was the soft, flaky fish fillet. On the other hand, the beef tongue was chewy and tough--a major disappointment given our past experiences of eating this delicacy at home and other restaurants. Our server insisted that it was correctly prepared. (Note: the following day, we had beef tongue tacos at Duo's Taqueria, and the meat was tender, juicy and seasoned well.) I’ve been wanting to try this restaurant since I’ve moved to this side of town. I went with my sister, brother in law and nephew. We all shared the peeking duck. It was good, a little on the dry side but it comes with a sauce which definitely helps. I ordered coconut boba milk tea, I was not a fan of the tapioca pearls. They tasted sour which is odd. The drink itself was good, I appreciated the fact that I can actually taste the coconut. My sister got the lemon grass tea, it wasn’t sweet at all but still was very good. We got scallion pancakes and cheese wontons as appetizers, they were good. I wasn’t a fan of the sauce that came with the pancakes. The decor is nice and simple. The staff is nice. There were two other tables filled whenever we arrived. The wait time wasn’t long at all. This was the test run now I know to come back and order plenty more.

NEVER again will I eat here. I ordered a mild chicken General Tso and a shrimp egg roll. What I got was a container of food too hot to eat. I had asked if I could get it mild and was told yes. The egg roll was inedible. It was a greasy sponge. I actually squeezed it and watched the grease drip onto my plate. Disgusting. If I could give it negative stars I would. There has to be a better restaurant in Squirrel Hill.

Quite possibly the best Mongolian beef (with mushrooms) that I’ve had in this country. Their pork lo mein is also excellent.Parking: In a busy downtown college area, there is only on street parking and it can be bad based on the time of day.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair ramp leading up to the entry.

One of the go to spots in Pittsburgh for szechuan food. Good vegetarian options, I love the cabbage with vermicelli noodles. Yum.

Great food but DO NOT ORDER delivery from their website. It gets farmed out to DoorDash. DoorDash driver never showed up...restaurant said they couldn't refund me bc it was a DoorDash issue, DoorDash said they couldn't refund me bc I ordered "from the merchant" and not their app. So I got NO Food and was out $50!! There is no warning on the CG website about this Door dash thing either. (As I generally try to avoid the "big" delivery services, I would not have ordered that way. Eat in, Pick up the food yourself or I guess use the "big" app as at least I would have had some recourse :( SO mad. Not to mention hungry :(

The OG Chengdu is my all time fave! They have THE BEST chili oil dumplings - EVER! They take care of you from the time you walk in to the time you leave. It's a little hole in the wall but has the best flavors coming out of it! This is a forever go to of mine. Not one bad thing has been eaten from this spot!

Most authentic Chinese food in Pittsburgh. The only place I have been able to get Mao braised pork belly. Ambiance and service is so so.
