never had issues with the Southside or squirrel Hill locations. showed up to this one a little after 7 this morning and a woman and I were trying to enter but the door was locked. there were customers and staff inside but they were ignoring us completely. kinda suspect because the Black woman trying to get in with me said this has happened to her before. there were literally customers sitting inside with their laptops and drinks at their tables. really disappointed. won't be returning. Everyday Cafe was a far more welcoming environment

Good place for remote workers.
Parking: It's a little confusing where you are allowed to park in this area. There is usually plenty of parking up the hill outside Ascend but it's a little bit of a walk.

Got a cold brew yesterday (6/13/2024) and it was very very bitter which means the concentrate was over extracted by too much time or too fine of a grind. I got one from there a while ago that was the same way and thought I got a bad batch so I decided to give it another go and still the same result.

I only tried the orange basil latte and sweet scone but they were both amazing. The staff were even better. Ended up spilling my latte and the staff was amazing enough to make me another one. The interior of the cafe is also vibes. Def great place to come for cup of coffee and to study. Will be back!

Great coffee and atmosphere. Plenty of space and seating options. Great variety in pastries and unique latte flavors (like Orange Basil). We enjoy picking up coffee beans here!

Was just at the Indiana location and wanted a low carb late that wasn’t made with sucralose - they were kind and accommodating and made me a delicious slightly sweet latte with stevia and vanilla bean paste that is so good ! So glad to go support local and really great quality coffee over a chain branch - also got my toddler and adorable sprinkle cookie
nice staff, good enough drinks but they literally charge you for just a cup of hot water – something that they have anyway for coffee! especially strange given how high prices are here. also the wifi is spotty and inconsistent.they’ve lost a customer in me and i used to go there 3 or so times a week.

Best coffee shop in Pittsburgh. Nothing is better than running late to work and saying F-that I'm going to get a coffee anyway. Stick it to the man by coming to work with a common place coffee in your hand

My first time visiting the Commonplace Coffee in Rockwell Park. We were participating in a Saturday art show upstairs in the same building, so the location was very convenient for me and many other visitors. The was a decent line when I arrived, but things moved quickly as they were well staffed. I ordered a large peppermint mocha off the special menu as well as a cinnamon roll. Both were pretty good. The mocha wasn't too hot when I got it like at some places, but that allowed me to try it right away. Not too strong of a peppermint flavor which I know scares some people away from trying such seasonal drinks, so this could be a good one for first timers to try. That place was nice with plenty of seating and a big garage door that can open in warmer months.

Currently my favorite Commonplace location in Pittsburgh. Coffee is amazing (I have a soft spot for their natural processed beans from Ethiopia, fruity flavors really prominent), love their tea supplier (licorice & peppermint surprisingly became a favorite), one of the few cafes that weigh their shots and have an espresso recipe they check throughout the day, baristas are kind, and they make great microfoam for their hot milk drinks. The atmosphere at this location is nice, and it has a regular flow of customers but isn't overly packed like the Squirrel Hill location. They just do everything right.
