Deli on Butler never misses! Their sandwiches are top-tier, but I’m locked in on the Cuban, easily the best in town. Perfectly pressed, loaded with flavor, and just the right amount of crunch. The whole crew is great, but Pete? Absolute legend. If you haven’t been yet, you’re seriously missing out!

Great local restaurant. The staff deeply cares about the customers. The sandwiches are made from scratch. Soup and cookies are always on point. This is a staple of Lawrenceville and a must stop in Pittsburgh. Recommendation:

The owner of this place is extremely rude to the point of being downright hostile. The young lady working there is mean, and she made me the worst sandwich I've ever had in my life, had to throw it away. The wedding soup is ok, but for some stupid reason they only have a tiny container size. Avoid these toxic people. Edit: In response to the hostile owner, you're a liar. You're a very unpleasant fellow, and the young lady was mean-spirited when I came in to complain about the sandwich. The turkey was mostly broken up, probably from the butt end of the batch. The guy that works there makes a good sandwich, that's why I go there. The young lady that made the turkey sub for me cannot make a decent sandwich. Also, I never asked if you take EBT for the sandwich because I know you're not set up for that. You seem to look down your nose at people that are poor, shame on you. Personally, I think your nasty attitude towards me is also based on the fact that I don't give a tip just for ordering take-out. The end part of your response to my review clearly illustrates your hostile and arrogant disposition. I rest my case.

Looking for a top-rated deli in Pittsburgh, stop at this one for lunch and then walk up and down the street popping into the local shops. I enjoyed the hot pastrami panini and my daughter liked their chili. My wife’s hoagie was average. One perk is that they have free chocolate at the register for all.

Friendliest service and super helpful. Sandwich was good. Staff obviously actually cares that you're happy and enjoying your food. 10/10. I think I was going to write something more original but I'm in a food coma from the yummy and filling panini. Oh and the price was really reasonable. Some places have just like one salad for the price we got two meals and two drinks here. If you want a sandwich, this is where you should get it.
Vegetarian options: Caprese panini, also offered veggie panini, wraps, and salads

Just scrolling through Uber eats and stumbled upon this hidden gem. Absolutely delicious !! Got the chicken salad sandwich, a Caesar salad and potato salad. WOW! Can’t wait to get it more often :)

Deli on Butler is a cool little neighborhood place to grab a quick and simple lunch.
I ordered the wedding soup which was pretty good.
I was disappointed with my sandwich though. I ordered the Marie, pastrami on rye with swiss, Cole slaw and deli sauce, warmed in a panini press. This is where the problem occurred. The bread was over toasted, basically burnt. After a few bites that burnt bread taste over powered my palate.
I still gave them 4 stars because the staff (I believe the owner was working the counter and took my order) seemed honest and hardworking and I appreciated their warmth.

I ordered from Uber eats thought I would give them a try. The tutti hoagie was disgusting- the sandwich was sweet n sour which was terrible. The pickle that comes on the side tasted like chemicals or plastic. Tossed it. The bread was soggy cause they put what looks like balsamic vinegar on it. The onions were NOT fresh at all. The Red peppers was just too much. I didn’t get olives on it. The ingredients on Uber DOES NOT say there’s balsamic on it and that ruined the entire flavor. Highly disappointed. There’s nothing to do but rip that part off the sandwich off. I’ll stick with Carson St deli from now on.

I just stopped in today to pick up an order. There were plenty of regulars coming in and out, and the owner (I assume) was sitting and working on something and joking around with everyone that came in. Just felt like a place you wanna be. Plus the sandwiches are incredible, and they don't skimp. I'm so used to paying an arm and a leg for barely any meat, I did a double take when I opened my roast beef. Looking forward to coming back, and checking out the other location.

The owner is extremely kind, courteous and friendly. He was sitting in the back, doing some work on his laptop, and a salesman walked in. Unlike most business owners, He gave the guy his time and attention and was very friendly to him. Most Business owners don’t make time for that And just Say no, not interested and ask the person to leave. Says a lot about a business to have an owner that also was talking and friendly with the employees but gave a complete stranger the Time of day because he’s just trying to do his job.
I had the Pasquale, the Wedding Soup and the Potato Salad (plus a Turner’s Tea - only tea to drink in Pittsburgh). All were extremely excellent, very delicious and the staff is very friendly as well. It was also very quick as well. Definitely recommend stopping in!
