Yum! This is such a cute place for sushi in Squirrel Hill. We found street parking right across the street on a Wednesday evening but there is a paid parking lot under Carnegie Library you can use that's a short walk away if it's a busier day. I got the spicy california and the dragon roll and both were incredibly delicious and filling! The ingredients were all fresh and the rolls were some of the best I've had in the city. Our waitress was great as well

I typically order from here and I have yet to find a place that delivers as well as Diners 2+1. I do wish they had a slightly wider selection, but given the good price and quality of their food, they’re still number 1 for sushi.

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat and it was very good. The spicy cold noodles were delicious and got spicier as I went. The sushi was all fresh and delicious. The spicy rolls were not that spicy but still

We ordered out on Saturday night around 7. I was told my order would be ready for pickup at 7:50. I got there and it was busy and I had to wait till 8:20 before my food was actually ready. The food was very good though.

Good find in Squirrel Hill! Small restaurant, but seated right away. Most other guests appeared to order the Japanese Hot Pot, which looked delicious. The sushi was good, and they had good options for non fish eaters too.

Was suggested to go there by my friend I was meeting for dinner. Apparently they had recently changed the menu to be more sushi forward which was fine with me but not as much for my dining companion. The food was ok but nothing special. It did throw me a bit to have sushi with lettuce in it. I definitely prefer cucumber as the green to be in sushi. While it fine for dinner they are unfortunately situated in sq hill between many other Asian options that I’d prefer.

We have now eaten here at least a dozen time and have received delivery as well. The food is consistently very good (the sashimi is fantastic (salmon and abura sokomutsu are divine), as well as their rolls), and the prices are very reasonable. Plum used to be our go-to sushi spot, and now this has become our favorite. Service is always incredibly quick and everyone there is so helpful and pleasant! We've tried most items on the menu and haven't found anything that we wouldn't try again!

I got some sushi takeout and was surprised by how much I liked the specialty veg roll. I like that you can order online and pay when you get there. I don't love that you can't put in an order until they've opened. Being able to order in advance would be quite nice and have less disruption to your day. One note, I ordered first thing when they opened. The confirmation said it would be ready in 40 minutes, but they messaged it was ready after only 13 minutes. If you're planning based on the time they give you, just beware it may mean you have to change up your plans.

While I'm not sure why the restaurant is called what it is called, this is a fairly good sushi restaurant. I have only been here for lunch and haven't tried too many of their specialty rolls, but I would say the basic rolls I have had for their lunch special are very good. I hadn't had an appetizer/side plate of tempura also in quite a long time, so I enjoyed it for all its worth on my last visit. It is a treat to have every once in awhile. I moved here from California, where sushi is more than abundant. This sushi spot fits the bill! :)

Diners 2+1 has done a lot over the last year and became so much better. They have menu options that are hard to find elsewhere in town. I really enjoyed their sukiyaki and yakiniku. I've been craving both for a while and they're decently priced here. The portion sizes are also pretty big, with a variety of different meats and veggies. I don't think their sushi is as good though. Would recommend sukiyaki and yakiniku instead. Kudos to them for trying to bring new Asian cuisines to Pittsburgh and not being afraid to try new things. The setting is casual, but there's only limited tables for yakiniku right now. 不过微信群预约也超方便,老板回复也快。The service is also pretty good. I remember when they first started upgrading their menu starting with sukiyaki, the boss personally went around to each table to talk to the guests and ask for their opinions. Do we think it's reasonably priced, are the portions good, etc. I really appreciated that they took the time to curate their new menu items.

Do not get the BBQ. Do not order the sushi. Service is awful and they automatically give themselves a 18% tip without notice. I checked the menu and it did not indicate an automatic tip. We were a party of 4.The sushi rice was completely off - it was too dry, it tasted like old rice!? The fish was not fresh, though I don’t blame them entirely. They did their best for being in a landlocked state. The BBQ is not traditional LOL. I don’t know what this was but it was not Japanese BBQ or Korean BBQ.We got the Combo A and while it’s certainly more than enough for 2 people, the meats did not taste good at all.The vegetables were mushroom and onion and 3 half pieces of lettuce. It was truly PAINFUL to watch the server make our BBQ. She hovered the whole time it took to cook the chicken, constantly flipping it. It’s possible this was her first time cooking in her life.Thankfully we saved her and ourselves the pain after she made the first meat, and cooked the rest of the meats ourselves.

My family discovered Diners 2+1 about a six months ago. We enjoy eating sushi there at least once per week. Sometimes twice! All of our experiences have been very positive with the food and staff. We're so very happy they are in the neighborhood and doing so well! It is one of our two go-to restaurants.
