Amazing pizza and such friendly staff. We have been coming here for years frequently.

Every time I come to Dinette I'm impressed by how fresh their food is. Everything is made with high quality ingredients and it shows. I also love that Dinette pays all of their employees a fair wage so no tipping necessary!

Had a really lovely time here. Our appetizers were great, we got the kale salad and the winter squash soup. I wasn't expecting the soup to be SOO flavorful. Our pizza was good and our rice pudding desert was amazing.

This restaurant is incredibly underappreciated in Pittsburgh. There is no better place in the city for uniquely delicious and authentic Italian-style pizza. The chef there is nationally recognized, the atmosphere is easygoing and it's in a super-convenient location. How it's managed to stay under the radar so long baffles me! Every time I go in I am surprised by how easy it is to get a table, and the service is always spot on - never any waiting beyond what you would want or expect. The staff is incredibly professional and friendly. They also have a very solid wine selection and a small but exquisite selection of insanely delicious sides (the cod toast is absurd and reason enough to go there). If you haven't been, you're missing out!

Dinette has it all. (1) Great food. Salads, small plates, and pizzas are all consistently top-notch. Creative & satisfying. No wonder one of the walls is covered in awards & articles. (2) Great wine. One of the best lists in town. (3) Great service. The staff has been there for years, and their passion for the restaurant really comes through. (4) Great atmosphere. The space is inviting and hip, especially with the disco ball turned on some late evenings. (5) Great parking. It's free and abundant, a rarity in Pittsburgh. My favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh.

Dinette has a super cute vibe and incredible food! I love a classic margherita-ish pizza so this was perfect for me! My friends and i also shared the burrata and it was really good! No tips is an it interesting concept but it makes the bill easier to split!

I have read the reviews and get the critique of the $22 pizza but this place is awesome. The food is priced exactly what you'd pay once you add 20% top. Olives were $6, amazing! Wine at $13, totally delish! We are our faces off with wine and apps for $100 for two ppl. Totally happy, we will be back!

Similar to many other reviews on here, the pizza just doesn't merit the $22 they are charging. I know they include the tip in that price, but even still the pizza is just not that special. One of the main issues for me Witt the pizza is the almost cracker like crust. Blah. In addition to the overpriced pizza, they are also charging $13 for a glass of wine. Huh? I know this place has been in business for quite awhile, but I don't get it. There are a number of other really good pizza places using high quality ingredients in town and even within a 2 mile radius.

By far my favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh. This is not a traditional pizzeria, though the pizzas are authentic in a creative way. The pizza is thin crust, there are usually 5-6 different types on the menu, which changes daily. Ingredients are of the highest quality, always seasonal. The appetizers are wonderful, always fresh and a great companion to the pizzas. Lots of vegetarian options. The wine list is short but very well curated and extremely well priced. They also serve the best rice pudding I have ever tasted with seasonal toppings. The staff is delightful, the decor exquisite and I love that they really care about sustainability.

I got the arugula and prosciutto pizza which was fantastic. However this place is expensive, even though you don’t pay tip on top of your check.

I honestly wanted to like this place. Don't get me wrong, nothing was wrong with their food. However, it is not special enough for me to pay 20 dollars once again for such a small portion. Their staff was super friendly. Their food was good but not special.

We checked out Dinette for T's Birthday and were so delighted with the entire experience. They do not take reservations but we had a short wait to be seated. Our waitress was super sassy and fun and very knowledgeable about the menu and the wines. We ordered up the Grilled Hakurie Turnips and Radish appetizer and one of the Baby Mustard Green salads. It was almost comical how both of us simultaneously said "oh my gosh!" as we took our first bite of each dish. I mean, you know mustard greens, right? Big whoop. But the flavors were extraordinary and layered and so wonderful. The radishes and turnips, same thing ... WOW, what great flavors! We loved them both. For pizza, we ordered up the Swiss Chard and Beet Greens with portabellas and a Prosciutto with arugula. They were both simply amazing pizzas with such delicious flavors. I read so many reviews saying the price point is too high and blah blah blah yadda yadda yadda for a pizza. But really, since they don't accept any tips, there's 20% right there and this is a James Beard Nominated chef restaurant. That's top tier in my mind and they deserve every penny because they are still cranking out amazing food after a decade. Bravo! PS - they have a 9 - 11PM Saturday night deal that features any pizza and any glass of wine for $25. BOOM!

If you are used to US chains or local shops serving so-called pizza with toppings swimming in either dead or synthetic cheese, this place may not be for you. Dinette’s pizza is as close to Italian pizza one would get. Crispy thin crust, few select toppings that waken the palate, and flavorful mozzarella. Savor rather than gorge! Our favorites: anchovies quail eggs (when available), eggplant, chorizo seco. The menu changes regularly, makes a great chance to savor Pizza as close to what could have in Rome or Naples. They have a small but good selection of Italian wines. For pizzas, we like any of their Sicilian or their Italian blends (choose a bottle with DOCG seal). Service was very good. No tipping is an excellent concept, a model for all US restaurants to pay their servers more than the minimum wage!
