Dive Bar & Grille (South Side)

A few days ago I had a delightful burger at this establishment. Last night, I came again with high hopes. Let’s just put it like this, do NOT get seafood here at all costs. This is completely my fault and I should have known the restaurant’s personnel better. But when you are advertising crab Mac n cheese for $28…it makes it seem as if it’s pretty good quality. Boy was I wrong. And don’t even get me started on the calamari. I’ve had good calamari before…I’ve had decent calamari before…and that was somewhere far lower. I spent $70 on food that I barely ate. This is probably the only poor dining experience I’ve ever had before. And by no means do I mean to talk poorly on the establishment because I’ve had a good experience before…but no reason in gods green earth should you be selling your seafood for that price when the quality is not there. My girlfriend was prepared to speak to the owner and stand up to the nonsense we had been served to us, but I decided it would be better for us to just move on. But in hindsight, I am regretting my decision to restrain her. Servers, cooks, this is not on you. This is on the owner who has provided this quality of seafood to the establishment and has charged that high of pricing. You guys have some good food…but, lower the price on the seafood.. actually scratch that..please take the seafood off the menu.

I was surprised that me and my friends popped in here late night and the service was super quick and the staff was nice even for the place to be packed. The fried crab balls taste like heaven and I didn't want to share with my friends but I did. Next time I go, I'm ordering it for myself. However we sent the crab dip back because it didn't taste as good. The crab balls set the bar way too high. But the staff understood and took it off the bill. Also the stacked Mac tastes like comfort food heaven. The drink specials are cheap, the food is quality and the vibe very much gives Pittsburgh bar.

I just love Dive Bar. I love that they have a lot of locations and each one is consistent. We just moved to the South Side and have been stopping in at the Carson Street location. The food is always stellar. I love that they make their delicious dressings in house. I’ve never had a meal I didn’t really enjoy. Service is always great and friendly. We’ve been going to Dive Bar since they opened back in like 2014 in Wexford when we lived up there. We’ve never once had a disappointing experience at any location and I think we’ve been to them all. My FAVORITE thing about Dive Bar is that wine isn’t an afterthought for them. You can always get a nice glass of something and don’t have to settle for some cheap swill. I really appreciate this aspect of the hospitality at Dive Bar. We are loyal customers and will continue to be for years to come!

I had an awesome pulled pork sammy, one of the best I've ever had & I highly recommend it. Moderately priced and the bar tender was awesome.

Ran out of the normal buns and gave me a wonder bread bun. Alabama slammer was missing all of its toppings, had a tiny bit of sauce nothing else. Forgot side of fries on the side so I was brought a side of fries nearly after finishing the sandwich. Very poor experience coming from the kitchen.

One of the few places that makes me want to wake up for another day. Great staff that's professional in a more down low way; often feeling like a friend rather than an unknown worker. Having frequented this location for some time now I've yet to have a disappointing meal and think it might have some of the best values in the city. One of the quickest in having a take out order ready as well.

Got the Ruben rolls and tasted the Pizza Rolls my cousin ordered all I can say is FIRE if you’re on the South Side it’s a definite stop!!!!
