About Driftwood Oven

Driftwood Oven offers a unique dining experience with specialty pizzas available by the slice. The Peach & Corn pizza and Strawberry Cheesecake Cruffin are standout items. The cozy atmosphere, complete with soft jazz, creates a welcoming ambiance. Pizzas feature crispy/chewy crusts, fresh toppings, and delicious sauce. While pricier, the high-quality ingredients and fresh flavors make it a top choice in Pittsburgh.

The restaurant features a self-serve style, where customers order at the counter and the staff brings the food out. The interior has limited seating, so calling ahead to check availability is recommended if dining in. The staff is described as nice and helpful. Customers praise the sourdough crust, which is said to be fantastic—crispy, airy, and one of the best crusts they have had. The sourdough crust makes each bite special. The Peach & Corn pizza, especially during summer, is highly recommended, noted for its sweet and tangy flavor. The Kale Riser and kale Caesar salad are also favorites year-round, with many finding the flavors worth the slightly higher prices.

Customers also enjoy the beer options on tap and in cans, making it a good spot for a drink. The restaurant was surprisingly quiet on a Sunday morning, but it is likely busier in the evenings, especially on warm summer days. Many reviewers say Driftwood Oven is the best pizza in Pittsburgh, praising its consistently good, well-made pizzas in a relaxed setting.

Overall, Driftwood Oven is known for its high-quality, fresh pizzas with a delicious sourdough crust, offering a unique and enjoyable dining experience in Pittsburgh. The seasonal Peach & Corn pizza is a highlight, with its perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors.

I really wanted to like this place, but I left disappointed. Three of us shared one pizza and three drinks, and the total came to about $45. For a thin pizza with not much on it, that’s hard to justify. The ingredients might have been called “artisan,” but the taste didn’t match the price.

If you’re eager to spend nearly $50 on one pizza and a few drinks, Driftwood Oven is happy to take your money.

We had intended to stay and eat our pizza, but my wife dumped her soda all over herself and we took it to go. The restaurant is great, staff was very nice and the pizza was amazing! We will definitely be back again!! While we were there, they bought a homeless man some slices and a drink. The love is in their food and helping others. ❤️❤️❤️

Delicious sourdough pizza!
