Embark on a Journey through Time and Timelessness at ECHT Coffeehouse Lounge and Bistro in Pittsburgh's Mt. Oliver rich neighborhood.Transport yourself to a experience this winter at ECHT Coffeehouse Lounge and Bistro, an enchanting haven nestled in undulating Mt. Oliver. Resonating with the spirit of So Aiken Street in the 70s, this Pittsburgh gem amidst the rolling hills and steep-sloped streets, weaving a narrative of boundless historical layers.Nestled in the Appalachian Plateau Province of southwestern Pennsylvania, Mt. Oliver seamlessly blends wandering charm with contemporary allure. ECHT's ambiance mirrors the essence of Shady Side, reborn in Mt. Oliver's narrow hilltops and historic architecture reflected in the steep-sloped streets, creating a photographer's paradise at every turn.Upon entering ECHT, the alluring fragrance of freshly brewed coffee welcomes you, reminiscent of the winding cement public staircases scattered throughout the city. From Mountain Ave, herringbone-bricked streets intersect with hand-carved granite paved streets, offering a unique architectural glimpse into Pittsburgh's history.Adjacent to St. Peter's German Catholic Cemetery, the location features an imposing obelisk dedicated to the Winter Bros., brewers from the South Side. The cemetery, with The Good Shepherd monument for parish priests, adds to the historical beauty.Delving into the area's deeper history, one imagines its pre-1500s state as a haven for Native Americans, akin to the beauty of Paleo-Indians. The Adena culture that followed saw the construction of a large Indian Mound at the future site of McKees Rocks, connecting patrons with nature even on a cold Pittsburgh day and creating a sense of a historical vortexes waiting to be explored.Beyond exceptional coffee, ECHT Coffeehouse Lounge and Bistro beckon patrons to discover Mt. Oliver's extremely diverse cultural history. The winter ambiance, paired with historical elements and dream like surroundings, makes this highly polished gem a must-visit destination. Immerse yourself in the charm of this Pittsburgh area's many masterpieces, where every cup of coffee tells a story, and every step echoes with the whispers of a rich and captivating past. Count the steep cement delightfully worn many staircases' steps all around this lovely creatives' space.

A friend invited me to go for coffee! Lucky me! The Ginger and orange Latte was heavenly. The decor is in tune with Nowalk Lighting on Liberty Avenue. Amazing metal work ! Friendly

My wife and I seek out coffee shops everywhere we travel to. This is probably the coolest coffee shop we have ever been to. The atmosphere is incredible to say the least. The metal work in the design is something I have never seen before in a coffee shop. The lattes were astounding as well.

You need to dings this place- kind of hidden away. It is a gem. Part foundry, wood shop tile source.. always developing All of that and great coffee and food. Try the orange ginger coffee and the grits and greens. YumGreat service and modern industrial ambiance. The foundry has made most of what you'll see

Daaang. First time checking this place out, great decor, very cool place with tons of character and very cool architecture. The owners are also craftsman and makers. So almost everything you see, from tables, the bar, to shelving, to light fixtures.. was all made by the owners, the team, and affiliates.. very cool. I was there for an event where the food and drink was prepaid so sadly I can't comment on price. But I can say that The food was as good as like.. a fancier restaurant. The beer selection wasn't amazing but it was absolutely decent, and they had some cool cocktails plus lots of coffee options. This is the kind of place that I was planning out a second visit before I even left.

This super cute coffee shop will make you feel transported to Europe. Between the well paced service, and the extra time and effort that they put into all of their drinks and food it’s truly more than worth the pricing. Perfect experience ❤️

I highly recommend Echt Coffeehouse as a special gift you can give yourself and share with friends and family. Every detail of the Echt experience is worthy of comment, but it is best to just check it out and see how the unique space and atmosphere speaks to you. Oh, and the food and drinks are amazing! Thanks to everyone at Echt Coffeehouse for all your positivity and “echt.”

Outstanding coffee shop in Mt. Oliver. Not many places in town you can get legit coffee! Food was outstanding too. Staff was very nice. Can't wait to come back and try everything else on the menu!

You could easily pass by this place without a second thought, but I'd advise against that! The inside is super cute and the staff are very friendly. I had one of the seasonal lattes - hazelnut maple. So creamy and there are little hazelnut pieces in there! Loved the wood and metal decor and all of the exposed parts of the building. The bathroom reminded me of a castle dungeon, in the best way. So cool! Would definitely recommend stopping in.
