Food is fine, but the AI pictures on the wall were actually very unsettling.
Come with my family this time a in couple of years. My go-to brunch place near Swissvale PA

First time here! Gem in the Regent Square neighborhood. Menu is diverse & spot-on! Fluffy omelettes and fab salads! Coffee packs a punch and the vibe is relaxed. Great service with a smile. Happy to support local establishments. Thank you, we’ll be back 💗

Very nice experience. I was expecting coffee refills would come sooner.
Didn't care for the bathroom because it has celebrity photos all over the room. I didn't think it was necessary and it felt creepy.

Had the Newton French Toast. Absolutely amazing. It was so good and I don’t usually have French Toast at restaurants it just seemed that it would be good and it really was!!

I don’t think owner cares about the restaurant or the customers because theirs always gnats flying around, also I was told that the lemonade is freshly squeezed but it’s not. It’s ok to have concentrated lemonade but it’s not ok to lie!

The restaurant had beautiful decor with paintings of celebrities all over the walls. It creates an ambiance that’s almost as good as the food itself. The eggs Benedict were delicious and the French toast was fluffy and rich. We also tried the ice cream latte which was a very fun start to the meal. 10/10 we will be back!

I see people have left five-star reviews for this place, some even claiming it’s the best brunch in town. Not even close.
I got the Frida (crab cake benedict) and paid the $2 up charge to substitute a meager scattering of fried potatoes on the side instead of a salad (why is this your standard side for breakfast?). Let’s start from the top down. Hollandaise — weirdly sweet, but whatever. Definitely tastes like it was poured out of a Sysco jug. Poached egg — barely runny when cut into. Crab cake — one of those pre-frozen, tiny breadcrumbed, fried circle of sea-flavored mush. “Slaw” — just chunky, dry cabbage slices, no dressing. Biscuit — delicious (I love canned biscuits). The potatoes had fine flavor, and they were fresh cut, but they were dry. When I’d almost finished but left some potatoes, a different waitress asked if we needed anything so I asked for some mayo to finish the potatoes. She said they only have spicy mayo, I said that’s fine. It almost made the potatoes inedible. And you know how relatively easy it is for a restaurant to make their own aioli/flavored mayos? If you don’t have regular mayonnaise, to me that means you’re buying this bizarre pink crap pre-made in a jug.
I think they’ve missed the point of owning a restaurant. There’s no effort that goes into this food, no creativity. It’s a shame that such a disappointing place has so many misleading five-star reviews and takes up precious commercial real estate in Regent Square. 👎👎

Just recently ate here and The servers were the best part of my experience, they were truly attentive and friendly but my food experience was a disaster. I ordered the Van Gogh eggs Benedict and was told i couldn’t make menu changes on the cooking of the egg although I’m pregnant and simply asked for over easy I was told that the owner doesn’t allow menu changes, the owner only seemed to show his face to fake positivity when customers had any problems around me even if it was refund or bill related the servers handled all the poor customer interactions which shows poor leadership. Since I couldn’t do over easy egg I ordered the Tchaikovsky sandwich. it was extremely greasy and honestly over priced because you can tell the chicken they serve is already cooked from a frozen bag they heat up. The “salad” wasn’t described before I got it I thought it would at least have cucumber or tomato for almost 20$ but it’s just spring mix with dressing. The tables wobbled and were made even with sugar packets and cardboard. Thankfully, I was served efficiently by the wait staff but was displeased when I used the restroom, it needed cleaned. The same server who served my food cleaned the bathroom!! (which isnt their fault but is disgusting) i would never eat here again just based off that. As I was waiting for the bathroom to be cleaned I saw the kitchen staff cooking with no hair nets! It is the start of winter and they’re still battling fly problems. This place just needs a lot of work and More dedication from the owner, not relying on the staff to do the big time cleaning and customer interactions. The overall most disappointing part was how the owner seemed to berate the staff over things he could simply do himself, he doesn’t seem to handle staff professionally. This place is just a nightmare. Avoid if you can. It’s only good for a quick bite.

They didn’t bother to cut the huge sandwich in half so I had to do it myself with rudimentary tools. now it’s an inedible mess. and look at the tomato and lettuce they use: they really just need to remove this sandwich from the menu. ughh food service these days 😑

Yikes. Really wanted to like this place but the service was rough. Also, three women working in the kitchen, all with long hair, had no hairnets on. Food was mid, our server would speak over our table to another table across from us rather than just walking over to them.
Weird vibes all around. I will give them credit that the food was fast.

The food was alright, but the restaurant seemed a bit dirty in my opinion. We had to swat flies away the whole time we were eating and the floors needed some love. (We had a 2 year old who kept dropping stuff, so maybe I wouldn’t have noticed otherwise.) It’s a pretty expensive breakfast, so I don’t think we will be back.

Came here for lunch the other day and unfortunately wasn’t very impressed. We had sandwiches, so I can only hope that the breakfast is better. I had the smoked salmon sandwich and it had one lonely piece of salmon on it. The sandwiches also come with hardly dressed greens unless you want to pay $2 for potatoes, which were pretty good.

Food was delicious. The portions were plentiful and the customer service was just as good as the food.
