There's a lot of things to love about fig & ash; it's got a fun atmosphere, great service, and good food. The attentiveness of the staff was particularly a highlight -- different dishes and utensils for each part of the meal showed an attentiveness to the experience. The food is inventive on simple themes, which we loved (but also felt like it didn't hit on some things).Overall, it was a great experience, but I think for what it was, the price is just a little too high (and thus the 4 stars instead of 5). Specifically, some of the food pairings were a little off, and the environment is a bit cluttered. Nothing bad for a slightly less expensive restaurant, but at this price point it's a 4/5 for me.

Delicious food, gorgeous atmosphere, great service. Loved the steak and meatloaf, the roasted carrots, and the orange vanilla creme brulee, and the cocktails and mocktails had flavor compexity, variety, and great performance to their delivery. Love the dog tag for the doggie bag!

Food is Delish, Seasonal and Creative.Service is Fast and Waiter is knowledgable about the food. You can see what is up in the kitchenAnd the bar makes really good cocktails (some seasonal and classic)I enjoyed the rustic style decor and outdoor sitting option, music is also just the right volume.Limited sitting, so during peak time it could be a lil crowded and you are elbow to elbow with other table. There is a pay parking spot nearby that is a plus.Overall a very positive experience. Will go back again.

Recently had dinner here. Heard great things about it and I was pleasantly surprised. Recently moved to Pittsburgh and it’s been hard to find a nice restaurant with decent food. My search is over, I recommend fig Ash and will definitely be back.

Fig and Ash offers a quaint and charming atmosphere, making it an inviting place to enjoy a meal. The seasonal changes in their menu add an exciting touch, ensuring that each visit brings new and delightful surprises. It's a refreshing concept that keeps the dining experience interesting and showcases the restaurant's commitment to fresh, quality ingredients. The pork chop at Fig and Ash is undeniably tender, a testament to their culinary expertise. However, the overuse of lemon did tend to overpower the dish, detracting slightly from the overall enjoyment. Despite this, the potential showcased in the meal makes a return visit a tempting prospect, especially given the restaurant's commitment to evolving their offerings with the seasons.

We were so looking forward to this meal but it was disappointing. Things started well with the carrot appetizer which tasted delicious. There were a variety of carrots and the sauce was fresh and creamy. My meal was the pork chop with bok choy and sweet potatoes. The potatoes were good with a pleasing earthy taste. The pork chop was tough and difficult to cut, partly due to the cutlery provided and also due to the meat, which required some serious chewing effort. Once I managed to get to the inside of the chop it was bloody. Okay in a steak notsomuch in pork. The bok choy was boiled to death and was stringy and tasteless. Also impossible to cut with the knife provided. My partner had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and kale. Again the potatoes were the star of the plate. The meatloaf was non-descript and a bit oovercooked in spots. The kale was far too sweet. We finished off with the creme Brule. It was warm pudding instead cold silky custard. The sugar went beyond caramelized and left a burnt taste in our mouths. For the $160 price point we expected better.

Everything was solidly good, but there is nothing here to truly "blow you away" - I recommend trying it yourself though, to see.

Had an excellent dinner with superb service. Standouts were the roasted heirloom carrots, campanelle, and the meatloaf.

Great: service, portion sizes, after dinner cocktailGood: creativity of dishes, taste of dishesOK: price pointEh: it's loud. Ate late on weeknight and it was half fullI think a few of the previous reviews were a bit harsh, but it's the diners responsibility to know going in what menu looks like and what price point is.We had one dish from each "size" and desert and it was plenty of food. Not disappointed we ate there, not sure I'd go again for same menu.

Great service, amazing food, loved the cocktails. One weird thing to me is that one of the servers kept folding my partners napkin and putting it on the back of his chair when he went out for a call and bathroom
