Exceptional first experience at Fish nor Fowl! Every morsel was full of flavor. We started with the chickory salad on the feature menu which was crispy and lightly dressed. The steak tartar was served in a bone with lightly toasted focaccia. Our entrees were both equally delicious. We missed the opportunity to enjoy the homemade pastas so there will need to be a return visit! The menu is at the top end our dining budget but the quality is there so recommend for special occasions.
Everything was fabulous. We were on the outside patio so can't speak for the noise level inside. We ordered the white bean and the whipped ricotta dip with the house bread, the endive salad, carrots, crisp duck and stuffed shells. Split between 3 of us was just perfect. The cocktails were also excellent. We will definitely return.
We had a lovely early dinner...both cocktails and food were delicious. Our server was excellent! Definitely a place to enjoy a first-rate dinner-the ambience is nice and the outdoor dining area is beautiful and fun!
The cost of food in general has gone up everywhere. However, if you want to eat quality food, you have to expect to pay more for it these days. We had the focaccia bread with the Calabrese ricotta spread, the burrata with prosciutto, Muscles, Mushroom Pappardelle, the Rigatoni Bolognese, and the Maglicchio desert. We told our waitress we felt like we were a little piggies shoveling down our food. It was all so delicious. Mark liked his Italian Manhattan. I was so so about my drinks, but I'm not a huge drinker & it's hard for me to find drinks that I enjoy. The wait staff was great, attentive, and professional. If you can ask for Kendal's section. I would highly recommend. Great night!
Love this place! Best food, best atmosphere and service every time! Cannot recommend this place enough!
Exceptional on every level! Clearly one of the best in Pittsburgh, with a can't miss wine list!
We had small plates, meatballs, mussels. They were served promptly and were delicious. We ordered large plates, duck, char, mushroom pasta, lemon mussel pasta. After waiting 55 minutes we flagged our server and asked about our meals. They appeared a few minutes later. She had clearly neglected to give the order to the kitchen. The food was fine when it finally arrived. Cocktails were unique and very nice. We would give this place a 2nd try but not a serious “do again”
Had a lovely dinner here on a Saturday night, in the chic upstairs dining room. We enjoyed sharing the artichoke appetizer, and then had the pasta with crab and we also got the arctic chard, plus a side of broccolini. The pasta with crab was standout, the handmade squid ink pasta was perfect, the sweetness of the crab balanced with a little heat from dried red pepper. We loved the brocollini as well, cooked perfectly with a yummy sauce. The service was excellent, our waiter was kind and attentive. An excellent restaurant overall, highly recommend.
The space is great, the vibe is good, our server was great and everything was well timed. I am a beer drinker and I get that they don't cater to that so I'm ok with nothing on tap but only 5 or so beer choices and all very mid was surprising to me. And the food was pretty good, but not amazing. I will say that portions were generous, which I wasn't really expecting. My partner and I shared a charcuterie with meats and cheeses, with focaccia and then I got the mussels with broccolini. The broccolini was undercooked enough that it was hard to chew-- maybe they were supposed to parboil it and forgot? The mussels, meats and cheeses, and foccaccia were fine but neither really blew me away. It was a nice evening-- we enjoyed ourselves-- but because of the food, it doesn't really seem competitive with other places at that price point.
The restaurant is a cool space with a living plant wall and upstairs bar you can see from downstairs. Food was quality and excellent. Our server, Dominic, was friendly, efficient and helpful. Will definitely go back.

The price is a bit much, but it is worth it every time. When I know I'm going to Fish nor Fowl I basically fast the whole entire day to make room for my meal and the focaccia and whipped ricotta. Absolutely recommend 10/10
The food was probably the best I have had in a long time. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection. The downside is feeling like you are dining with others due to the long bench seating.
This was our first time here and the experience was great. Wonderful food and service. Had the Focaccia with whipped Ricotta, Caesar Salad, Shrimp and Squid Ink Malfaldine and shared Affogato for dessert. Just wonderful!
My husband and I had dinner there this past Saturday to celebrate his birthday. Again. Lol My husband had the duck. I had the stuffed shells it was different no red sauce both were very good. The meatball appetizer was the best meatball and sauce I have had in a long time. Loved the ambiance of the restaurant. Service was also very good. We will return.
Absolutely loved this place, from the ambiance to the food to the amazing service. We went foe my birthday and made the evening feel extra special. Loved the whipped ricotta, the stuffed shells, mussels and panacotta. The risotto was a little underwhelming but the rest of it made up for it. The service was by far the best part, and truly felt like it was just us there. Would definitely return.
