Pros- Focaccia was beautifully executed and so delicious. Pasta was perfectly cooked to al dente. Portions were generous. Dessert menu was interesting and both options we chose were excellent. Cons- Very slow service. Crazy slow. Pasta was oversauced. Duck was not good at all. Had one of the worst cocktaills we can remember. Overall- Would come back for a glass of wine and some focaccia at the bar. Would be a perfect way to kick off an evening in Shadyside or surrounding areas....
This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. The entrees are creative plays on classic Italian dishes, the sides are well executed and the appetizers are incredible. The most dangerous thing is the buckwheat focaccia. It's fluffy, soft and flavorful, and the variety of dipping options are mouthwatering individually. I love the vibe of the restaurant. It's hip without feeling forced, the staff is friendly and they play cool music. It's a great date night spot....
We have been going to Fish Nor Fowl since it opened. We are huge fans of the Richard Deshantz restaurant group. The food was amazing, as always. Alexander was personable and knowledgeable about the wines and food. He went above and beyond to make our dining experience very enjoyable. This is a great restaurant with a well executed and diverse menu.
