Moved to S Hills area 11 years ago from out of state. Been driving past Frank and Shirley’s quite often. 1st time in was on 10-3-25. So sorry we never ate here before! Greeted w friendliness immediately by a nice young man who said sit anywhere. He followed us to our table w menus and offered us beverages asap. Frank & Shirley’s was extremely clean! You notice how pleasant & clean it is as soon as you enter. Nice and bright & every table not in use was clean & ready. Our service was prompt & professional by the young man and by our waitress. Excellent timing to take our order. Not rushed into ordering. She saw our menus go down & she was over soon and asked if we were ready. The front end staff seemed to know many diners by using their names, or greeted them by name as they came in & asking about them, their health, or their family. Love this place. Friendly, comfortable, clean, bright, & folksy w great food! Our food came out quickly, while also fresh, & hot. Food looked good & tasted great. We both had breakfast-The eggs were done perfectly for me w an excellent portion of home fries. The home fries were excellent. My fellow diner had a great looking, large meat omelette! Again, all items were hot & delicious! Definitely going back & soon! Great diner atmosphere w fresh, tasty, hot food, with attentive, professional, and very personable staff. As lunchtime approached more & more folks were coming in. Nice mix of diners-construction workers, older folks, people with lil ones on a lovely Friday in Oct.
This place would be a huge hit imo if it was a 24 hour/late night place. Seems those type places disappeared with 2020 😡
But sure are open early at 5:30a! ❤️
Again, will be back & often. Excited to try some of the specials they offer or some of their lunch items. Excellent place & staff w good prices.

We were in Pittsburgh for a few days to attend a concert and learn the city. After the casino, a concert, and a couple hungover nights we were hankering for some breakfast diner comfort food before the 5 hour drive home. We scouted a few local antique shops and stumbled upon this place searching for quick food nearby…boy am I GLAD WE DID! We walk in and grab a booth seat, an employee’s children are playing on their iPads and singing next to us. Everyone enjoying a late Saturday coffee and hearty breakfast. I had the 2 eggs, meat, potatoes, and toast special. My girlfriend had the western omelette and Texas toast. Everything was amazing!!!!(imagine Waffle House but you’ve got the worst hangover ever and your Nana sprinkles a little extra love in there) The bacon is the greatest thing I’ve ever put in my mouth.point.blank.period. The potatoes are exactly how my grandmother chopped and smashed them when she friend them in the cast iron skillet. My girlfriend’s western omelette was exactly how it should be, fluffy bright yellow egg with tons of flavor aided by salt and pepper to your liking and cooked yet firm produce mixed even throughout. AMERICA PLEASE KEEP THESE TREASURES ALIVE!!!!WE NEED THEM!!!!

Frank & Shirley’s has that classic diner feel that we really enjoyed. When we first arrived, there was a bit of a wait before our server came to take our order, but once she did, everything went smoothly. The food was excellent—our eggs, bacon, and sausage were cooked perfectly, and the pancakes were delicious. We were a bit surprised by the final bill (about $50 for two adults and a toddler), especially since the side of bacon was a little pricey, but we understand that prices have gone up for everyone. Overall, despite the wait to take our order and the higher-than-expected cost, we had a great experience and definitely plan to come back!

Have Been a customer there for over 40yrs. Came in today like I do every weekend at 12.15pm sign on the door says closing at 1pm. Got to my usual seat and the waitress says she was closed. She thought she was real funny. Terrible attitude. She better be glad I didn’t have that attitude when I served this country for 24yrs of Military service was in 62 foreign countries and 2 tours of duty in Beruit Lebanon. Made sure all u people slept safely at night. I would start with customer service Training. Goodbye to Frank & Shirley’s. George F ogg.
