We happened to get a table on a Saturday night within 5 minutes which was great! Fast service food came out quickly and everything tasted very fresh! The chips and salsa are complimentary and so delicious! The pico and gauc are fire! This place is a must try

They do an amazing business, but it was way too loud for me, especially as the alcohol kicked in for some patrons.
Food was decent. We were sitting at the first booth in the dining room to the Right, against the bar wall.

First time actually eating here (always had food to go). Tiny, very loud, and congested. Couldn't have decent conversation without yelling. I was surprised at the small menu and they don't have your basic mexican fare. Definitely Americanized mexican. The food we got was good tho. A little on the spicy side so heads up. The deserts didn't disappoint. Service was pretty slow especially for how small the place is. Will go again in the future.

Recommended dishes: Chicken Enchiladas with Colorado Green Chile
Overall, it was OK. I was happy to see Colorado green chili enchiladas on the menu, the service was good & the general vibe of the place was nice, but the food was a lot spicier than any of us expected.
Tasty food and great service
Love this place been going for 20 plus years
This review is long overdue! We've been ordering from Franklin Inn every week, sometimes twice, for nearly six months. As a vegan with a severe dairy allergy, my options in Pittsburgh are limited, but Franklin Inn offers incredible vegetarian and vegan dishes, with new specials that keep us coming back. Their vegan cheesecake is a must-try—absolutely incredible! My husband, who prefers meat, also loves the food, making it a rare find for us both. We haven’t tried their happy hour yet, but it's top of our list for our next date night!
Dietary restrictions: A lot of vegan options, and they usually have a new vegan special each week too! So it's not just one option, and the menu never gets old!

Franklin Inn Mexican Restaurant is a great spot with delicious food made from fresh ingredients and a variety of flavorful dishes. The chimichangas were especially tasty and stood out among the menu items. Even though it was busy, the waitress was attentive and friendly. The dining room is a bit small and noisy, which made it a little hard to hold a conversation, but the charming decor added to the overall experience. All in all, it was an enjoyable visit, and I’d definitely come back again.
