One of the best ice creams here! I love the pistachio baklava but unfortunately almost always out of stock! But regardless they have amazing other selection! Great stuff

This is a fun little ice cream place in a busy section of Lawrenceville. I had heard good things about before from friends, but hadn't gotten the chance to try it until a rainy Saturday night with my family after we had finished dinner.

The space is meager and it can feel a little cramped, but the workers do a nice job getting people thru quickly, even with the ability to sample flavors. The flavors themselves are quite expansive and interesting, while also having the tried and true favorites. I gor the Cinnamon Stickies ice cream, and it was quite good- chock full od flavor and pleasant textural juxtaposition. The prices aren't the cheapest, but seem fair for the area and the quality. It's worth a stop if you're in or around Lawrenceville and need to fix an ice cream craving.

Went down here the other night and the employees were super friendly and welcoming. There were so many flavor and topping options along with vegan options too. Best ice cream ever would definitely come down here again 10/10 recommend!

Nestled in Lawrenceville, Frio Creamery serves up a delightful combo of Penn State’s classic ice cream and inventive homemade vegan options. Walk in and you’re greeted by a warm, clean space with friendly staff—one commenter noted, “the employees were super friendly and the place was super clean and cute” .

SO good. I got the grilled stickies ice cream and it was perfect. The flavors are all really fun so I want to go back and try more.

All 4 ice cream flavors we tried lacked flavor. Texture is OK. Front door seat smells like pee.

Writing this a vegan, so there are more limited options for me at FRIO Creamery, but the vegan options are literally SO GOOD that this is one of my top ice cream spots in the entire city! I love the flavors like blueberry lavender, peanut butter and cookies, and blueberry pancake (just gimme all the blueberries 🫐!). They have an array of awesome toppings to add to the already amazing flavors. Also, service is quick, there is seating, and the hours are great. I love being able to grab a double scoop late!

HOLY MOLY, FRIO has lived in my dreams since my partner and I stopped randomly. This is the best ice cream I have found in the Pittsburgh area and this is coming from someone with a mildly problematic ice cream addiction. There are some other fancy and/or local chains and this place beats them all. The person working that day told me one of their sources is the Penn State Creamery so I KNEW it was going to be good. I got cookies and cream and strawberry and both were divine. My partner's was a slam dunk as well--he got a raspberry crumble. We got two double scoops and paid $17.50, so it's spendy, but we'll go out of our way to stop here again and again, when we are able to for a special treat.

A bit on the pricey side ($21 for a sundae and a milkshake) but my husband and I both agreed it was some of the best ice cream we have ever had. The bananas foster sundae was AMAZING!! Definitely in my top 5 ice cream sundaes ever.

I climbed many a rock to get to FRIO Creamery. My hands, rugged from my adventure, ordered a double scoop of blueberry lavender and lemon cello. I was being rather fickle and didn’t know if I should get the Piece of Cake flavor, but the wise young lass behind the counter informed me that Piece of Cake is always there. I had made my decision. Once I had taken the first bite of my double scoop, I was transported to a new dimension. It was out of body. It was like I had risen and saw my ancestors. Thank you RIO Creamery.
