Always enjoyed the portions as a student; many years later, still a great place for mighty sandwiches. One of the few places with good sweet potato fries without a huge upcharge, which my partner greatly appreciates. The food's great, but these days it's takeout or nothing -- not sure it's my scene anymore, anyway. The small indoor seating area means you're packed in and the noise really has nowhere to go, so it's constantly grating.

We tried the fire-baked Brie and the sweet Caroline pizza. Both were perfect and the price was reasonable. At first the Brie tasted weird, but we soon discovered that the mixture of different flavors in that plate was amazing. We also loved the pizza, thin crusted with tons of toppings. The combination of sweet sauce and jalapeño was impressive. Will come back next time for other dishes.

Decent American style food, great selection of beers, friendly staff, and a great location for lunches or nights out. The pulled pork sandwich is great and they have a wood fired pizza oven, so the pizzas are delicious too. If you're looking for light food options then this will be a harder task. Outdoor seating in the summer. Dine-in or takeout.

Been going here for almost 20yrs. Good place for normal Americana style food. Only thing I will say is that I think its time for a new menu or at least a few new items OR its that I've been there too many time?? Either way i recommend F&F if in Oakland. Drinks are good and they have a rather impressive beer selection. Don't let the small look from the outside full you, you have plenty of room away from the next table and they also have seating downstairs.

Been eating here for years since my son went to Pitt in the early 90's. Food has always been great. Pizza is amazing. Had burgers this visit, simply delicious! Service was great, food came out quickly. Sweet potato fries are amazing.

Amazing and innovative pierogis, best sweet potato fries I've ever had, and great beer.

First time at F&F. Overall impressed by the food and service! Stopped by for lunch with some colleagues today. I was happy to find they had a veggie burger on the menu. They make one with quinoa and it is dense! I couldn't finish it. The sandwich stood tall with all the fixins and had me asking 'How do I eat this?' The roll was a yummy sandwich roll. The pesto aioli on the burger was delicious and I wanted more. Even the fries were impressive! Fresh and crispy they could have been the star of their own dish. I got the choice of half russet half sweet potato. We were seated right away around 11:45. Service was attentive and friendly. Food came out quickly and was accurate. Definitely check this place out if you're in Oakland for lunch!

I ordered the skinny dip (Buffalo chicken dip) and chicken Caesar salad. When I first arrived to the store to pick up my order, I asked for an extra side of Caesar dressing. I was told it would be an extra $5, which just seemed wildly expensive for a small side of dressing. When packing my food, I watched the server go from the POS station right over to loading my tortilla chips into a container with her hands. I didn't say anything bc I thought to myself I'll just use the chips I have at home. Now the quality of the food... the Caesar salad was fine, but the croutons were so soggy. I ended up only eating the chicken from it. And then I opened the Buffalo chicken dip and the entire top was burnt. I tried some of it to see if it was meant to be that way, and by the taste... no, it was really gross. Then I tried the part of the dip that wasn't burnt. It was so entirely dry and salty that I couldn't eat any of it, and a reminder that the chips weren't touched either. After spending nearly $30, all I got to eat was the chicken from the Caesar salad. I am quite disappointed and also so hungry still. Sad.

Our server Emily was wonderful. Very attentive. My husband's meatloaf was not what he was expecting. She asked if he would like something else. He asked for the fish sandwich, which he really enjoyed. We're not one to complain often when eating out. Not many places offer good service and good food together. Hope they appreciate you Emily

Very cool laid back place in Oakland! Our server, Mary, was knowledgeable about the beer selections and made excellent recommendations for both food and drink. We started with the Kick-gas nachos and fire baked Brie. Both pretty tasty. As our main dinner we split the Buffalo chicken pizza and Hog heaven sandwich. The portions were large and honestly very reasonably priced! We will be heading back in the future.

The drinks are great, the sweet potato fries are great. The hummus is TERRIBLE. Please please do not order it, I'm begging you.

First time at this restaurant with a few friends walking in. We were seated right away and our waitress was very attentive. We had our drinks within 5 mins, I chose the old fashioned and it was pretty strong which I appreciated! I had the pulled pork quesadilla which was very flavorful. Their wings weren't bad which we shared. They have a wide selection of drinks and their whole menu has a great selection of burgers, apps, pizzas, salad, breadsticks, etc. Nice place to catch up with friends.
