Food and drinks were fine. Service was sporadic. The butternut squash soup was to die for! We sat at the bar and it seemed like there was a lot of help but they seemed overwhelmed. Assuming that there was my re people beyond the bar. Hence we'd get put in the back burner. At the end of our stay not once but 2x ...patrons yelled about a mouse running around near us. The bar tenders ignored it...when my bill came I said you gotta give me a discount considering there's mice running around here. She took my ravioli to go order off . I thought that was fair but still why are there mice running around in the dinning room?

Sat in the bar for happy hour. Matt the bartender was very attentive and helpful. The drinks and food were great and what an incredible building! This is the go to spot to turn back the clock on classic bars and restaurants!

We have been to two Happy Hours here in the past couple years, the first last summer on a Friday, and again tonight, a Thursday. The first one, I think there was one bartender for the room, and he was also servicing the entire restaurant. There were about 8 of us and it took a very long time to get waited on while we were there. It was a Friday, so you want to cut them some slack, nut one bartender for the Gandy Dancer and the Grand Concourse. That really isn't OK. So tonight, Thursday, we expected less busy, but it turned out the bar side filled up, and the staff was overwhelmed. Again took forever to get waited on and also to get our food (confusion reigned in getting our order to all come out). The Happy Hour specials are pretty decent. Drink and appetizer specials were reasonable and reasonable tasty. Though I will say, I had both the East End Big Hop and the Dogfish head, and both tasted a little off to me - wondering if the lines need cleaned/maintained?

Not good. Food and service here have just progressively been getting worse. I will not be back.

This place routinely has horrible service. Not busy, sat in a nice pub table in the bar area. Ignored. Just sat. So we moved to the bar proper. Of course when you're sitting there you'll get some attention. Ordered an appetizer and it never came out. Had a quesadilla, still waiting on the appetizer. The manager apologized for the inconvenience and promised to comp the appetizer -- LOL, it never came! Thanks but no thanks. This place has an old-school bar feel but it's never worth the hassle of the experience.

I dont give 1 stars often but this was the worst bar experience just getting a drink. Took 20 minutes to get a drink and pay for that drink in a dead bar. Everyone was running around lost it seemed and very stressed. I took my girlfriend out for her 30th and stopped her before dinner and both of us.

Edit: found out they fired their main bartender for giving out a free drink and just brought in a ton of new staff. If this is true, shame on this place for firing someone for that in this economy. Also poor choice because its making a worse experience for their customers.

We had a great time for lunch! The food was excellent 👌 and our server was amazing. The view of the city was great and we had a wonderful time! Taylor made us feel right at home and we couldn't believe the portions and decent prices. Wonderful restaurant and we can't wait to visit again!

We have been going to the Gandy for years. They have really stepped up again. Calamari was the BEST we ever had. New England seafood roll and prime rib sliders were both fantastic and a great value. Definitely recommend this place. Happy hour is from 3:30-6:30 and prices and value are worth every cent. Will be back

New menu SUCKS.
All the house staples are gone, including steamed clams.
Mussels, GONE.
Clams Casino GONE.
Whoever decided to make these changes needs fired. SAD, this used to be the best restaurant in Pittsburgh, now it's a joke.

Gandy Dancer Saloon is connected to the Grand Concours in Pittsburgh. The building is a preserved railroad station. It was worth the visit just to experience the building. The Gandy is casual, and the happy hour features specials for drinks and a limited selection of food

Went to dinner only to find there was one poor bartender for the entire place. She was not only so busy, but the previous bartender left her a heap of dishes. I asked the check in girl to call manager because she couldn't wait on us with all the dining room drinks. It took 40 mins for us to get the first drink. Poor Merideth..not only was she pleasant she did her very best for the situation. Our meals were exceptional..dynamite Mahi Mahi, blackened Mahi Mahi and Chilean sea bass. And blue point oysters.
Highly recommend restaurant and MERIDETH.
