Disregard the negative reviews about this place, they are all rich and entitled people from Shadyside and Point Breeze. Great vibe, incredible food, great staff, and reasonable prices for the quality of the product. So happy to have this place within walking distance of my home. Wish them nothing but success!

I'm editing this review at the end of 2025. Georgie's still has delicious food, but a few other things have made me stop going there nearly as much as I used to. The base price for a breakfast sandwich used to be $9.50 in January, and is now $15 in December. If you want to add bacon and to have it on an English muffin instead of a biscuit, it's $21. That's over a 50% increase, plus new credit card surcharges and an expected tip. They seem to be isolating much of their base customers, because most students and young professionals can't justify over $50 just to get breakfast as a regular expense. I used to get a breakfast sandwich every Sunday, and now with the cost of everything else going up, I can't justify that expense anymore. It's admirable that they want to pay their employees a living wage, and it also feels like they're ripping off the customer in order to do it.

Their coffee drinks are also incredibly inconsistent. I stopped going for coffee after I had three nearly flavorless drinks in a row. Their pumpkin spice latte and dirty Chai were both overwhelmingly bitter and I'm not someone who enjoys a sweet drink, but these were just so lackluster. I go to other independent coffee shops a few blocks away and they are all unfortunately much better quality.

You will get a good meal here and an excellent pastry. I wouldn't recommend the coffee or the value.

Original review: Consistently delicious baked goods, coffee, and breakfast food. I have lost count of how many breakfast sandwiches I've had here. And now they have the new mcgeorgie's and if this doesn't become a regular Sunday staple instead of just Wednesday, I might need a new job.

It's a lovely place for a coffee and bite. The food is amazing, from the pastries/scones to the savory sandwiches and food options. It's totally worth the wait, though sometimes it is hard to get seating. The only downside is it's a bit loud; they play the music on the loud side and then when it gets busy the noise level rises. It can be a bit overwhelming! But especially when it's non-peak hours, it's a really lovely place. And it's worth getting take-away when it's busy! I love the affogato (I believe they're the only coffee shop in Shadyside with affogato!) and the lemonade.

Go for the incredible breakfast sandwich on a biscuit, skip the wildly overpriced flavored lattes and pastries.
Georgie’s is a cute cafe that is serving delicious food but is incredibly overpriced.
A flavored latte and small pastry should not cost $12 sans tip.
As a New Yorker I’m used to price gouging but jeeze. If the prices are reflecting paying their staff a livable wage (who by the way act completely uninterested in the customers even when given a compliment) then they should maybe advertise that. I’d feel a bit better about the prices if that was the case. By the way the sandwich is $15, $20 if you want to add 3 measly pieces of bacon.

The bacon is beyond perfect!

This place seems to be spiraling down, passing on fees for credit card use to the costumer and reducing portion sizes reeks of desperation. The food is ok, but expensive for what it is. The service has gotten worse, with rude baristas who don’t even remember the order. There are much better, less pretentious bakeries in the city.

The coffee is good though.

Good atmosphere, and service staff but inauthentic food that is decently good but nothing to be rushing to come back for, solidly average dining experience with way to high of a price to justify the mediocre food.

Really great coffee and pastries! They’re always pretty busy (since they’re so good!), so haven’t gotten the chance to get food yet, but I can vouch for their baked goods. The ginger and blackberry scone is so good, the biscuits are solid, and pretty much everything else is delicious, can’t go wrong with anything here!

Plus, the cafe is very cute with indoor and outdoor seating, great place to read, do work, or chat, one of my favorite cafes!

I’ve spent a lot of time in NYC drinking some of the best coffee in the world. Georgie’s has raised the bar in Pittsburgh for how a cup should taste.

Cute little cafe here in Shadyside. The food is incredible although it can get a little busy and loud! Service was ok! A little pricey considering the portions but delicious nevertheless.
