been here a few times now, the food is always awesome, best sushi I've ever had hands down. couldn't recommend this place enough.
When one finds himself free from the trivialities of life and on the wandering path, one must eat. Like flicking the arrowed spinner on a child's game, one may expect to find Italian, American, or some mix of fusion in the realms of Pittsburgh.
On this given night, I found myself at Ginza having walked past the shop on the way to my parked vehicle. I doubled back...its quiet allure, a single part of 6 males chatting it up and a lone receptionist taking a call. It was type of situation that comes once in a lifetime where the stars align for good food, service, and perhaps one' s own company at a reasonable price.
I was seated quickly and asked for my preference in drink. I opted for green tea. They brought me a menu with an extensive selection of sushi rolls and something that would likely please just about any appetite. I opted for the Strongman Rolls: Soft Shell crab, shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, avocado, fish roe, lettuce...
They served the rolls on a long plate with a few slices of ginger and a pod of wasabi. Soy sauce is on the table and they hand you a small mixing plate with chop sticks and a fork.
The soft shell crab was fried to perfection and the soy sauce achieved the perfect balance of sweet and bitter soy and the wasabi was hot enough to singe the nose hairs but deep enough to know when to quiet its argumentative fervor and and let your taste buds enjoy the meal. God, these rolls were so delicious they would be on my top three dishes for my final meal before a death battle in the nether realm.
The atmosphere is quite neo-soul/alternative. Think soothing soulful instrumentals and Gorillaz. The receptionist took a few calls and maintained her professional demeanor despite the callers not quite understanding how to order while a Door Dash Driver came in and picked up an order while waiting for another to finish. Yet, this venue remained calm and serene.
I ordered the fried cheesecake and Japanese tea ice cream causing my waiter to send back the check he had brought me prematurely. Their green tea ice cream is of the darker variety but nails the flavor on the match mix green teas flavor with the slight hint of sweetness. I didn't even know that fried cheesecake was a thing. They delivered it with a spot of whip cream and magical chocolate and strawberry spotted drizzle.
So delicious...so yummy....
A party of 8 arrived as I exited and it made me wonder how many know about this quiet gem? Well, now you do so the only question is what's stopping you?

The host ruined the experience. I asked if they are able to make a keto/riceless option. He obviously didn't know so just told me no. I explained how it's made and asked him to ask the sushi chef if he can do it. Instead of just asking, he tells me they can't substitute the rice. He was just a dick and ruined the experience for no reason. Just ask!
Dietary restrictions: They don't accommodate a keto diet

Since I’ve lived in Pittsburgh, (almost 6 years now) Ginza has been my go to sushi spot. The rolls are phenomenal and the price is more than fair. Pick up orders are ready so quickly and I’ve never experienced a single issue. The customer service is fantastic and it will continue to be a weekly spot for me until I leave the city!!

The people and the place itself were very nice. However, my gf and I got sushi and we’ve both been sick for about three days now. We wont be coming back as a result.

Great Sushi lunch special. Extremely lackluster, uninterested service although we had no issues and everything was timely.

I went here for my anniversary yesterday and mostly enjoyed my experience. The chicken yakitori skewers were deliciously amazing. The combo box 2 was womderful with yummy steak perfectly cooked and delicious tempura. I did find the sushi rice dry and left a bland dry taste on my tongue, which I hope they change to match the high caliber of everything else I ate. The mango sorbet and vanilla ice cream were delightful. Excited to give the sushi another chance with my coworkers next month.

Overall, it was an okay Japanese restaurant, but one thing that was disappointing was that the meat came out overcooked!

The service was great. Everyone was incredibly sweet and welcoming. The food was okay. The sushi I got had mangoes and shrimp tempura but can’t remember the name. My friend got chicken katsu and he said he had better. The sushi menu just had names so we had to keep asking what each sushi contained. Overall, the experience was okay but I don’t know if I liked it enough to go back.

I have a serious problem with paying over $14 for a "lunch special" of hibachi chicken and get a toddler size plate as well as have the chicken to be chewy. There food use to be great and now I don't personally think I'll be returning.
