I took my wife and daughter here for valentines day. I had the filet and it was perfectly cooked. My wife had the scallops and pea risotto. Scallops were sweet as can be and the pea risotto was perfect. Finally our daughter had the halibut oscar and she said it was the best fish she ever had. We will definitely be back. The owner who created the restaurants concept is a true angle. The difference you are making is real and it shows through every employee!
I'm happy I came to Cafe Momentum! Not only did the place look chic and easily accessible by public transit, it offered something else more meaningful; opportunity. For someone who has a challenging time spending money, spending money felt right here because it uplifts the next generation, especially those who have been strategically undervalued in our society. Thank you to everyone who made the night worthwhile!
A great mission to help youth with skills to cookamd serve meals aa a rewarding way to earn a living
We really enjoyed the experience and learning about the mission of Cafe Momentum. My friend said her steak was very delicious and generous portion, I loved the southern fried chicken, potatoes and collard greens. The gravy was a bit cold and could have used a little bowl on the side.
We grabbed dinner during restaurant week. We started with the bread board and beet salad, then the smoked fried chicken dish and mushroom ravioli, and both had the chocolate torte for dessert. Everything was beautifully presented and it was all delicious! Can't wait to go back and try more!
Really enjoyed our time at Cafe Momentum. The restaurant week menu was well done and we enjoyed every bite of our meal. This is a fantastic place with an amazing mission supporting youth through skill development. Make sure you head over and enjoy quality food and service at a great price.
Cafe Momentum was an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. The service was above and beyond, and the food was truly finger-licking good! We visited during Restaurant Week and enjoyed a three-course meal that did not disappoint. The meatball, salmon, and smothered chicken literally melted in your mouth. The meatball does have a little kick, but my 7-year-old nephew loved it so much he said he'd just drink water after every bite 🤣. We also ordered a short rib pizza, and wow—every bite was a gift from heaven. The short ribs were incredibly tender and perfectly seasoned. Most of us couldn't even finish our entrées because we devoured the entire eight-slice pizza first! The collard greens and spinach were seasoned to perfection, and the biscuits... whew. I almost bought the mix, but then realized I probably wouldn't do them justice at home. And let's talk about dessert! A chocolate tart with raspberry drizzle and a cran-apple cobbler that came out piping hot in a mini cast-iron skillet, topped with ice cream—need I say more? 😋 Don't sleep on the mint lemonade either 🥰. Overall, this experience is an absolute MUST. Incredible food paired with an even more incredible mission is truly irreplaceable. I'm already trying to figure out when I can come back!
3 of the 4 liked their dinner. These were a pasta, salmon with potatoes and a vegetable, and smoked fried chicken and sides. Portions were large. The green curry with shrimp was not a true curry and my friend only liked the shrimp. When we asked if the starter salad was large enough to share the waitress said it was small. But it was large enough to share for 2. Service was reasonably good. It's BYOB with a $5 corkage per person. We will go back.
Wow! So impressed with the mission of Cafe Momentum and their commitment to the youth. The food was absolutely delicious too. I haven't had a light fluffy waffle like that in years. Kudos to the community sponsors that see the value in this work and allowing justice-involved youth to be a part of creating such an impressive space and cuisine.
Cafe Momentum is one of our favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh. The food is always amazing and program is changing lives. The young staff was knowledgeable and helpful. Give it a try!

The food was elegantly presented and very good. The wedge salad had great flavors as so the salmon. Go try it out. It not only is a superb night out the mission to teach at risk teenagers a career in food service is admirable.
Welcoming service, excellent food (I had the salad with salmon and my fellow diner had the burger and chips, salad and lobster bisque). One of my favorite spots Downtown - will definitely return!
Great food for a great cause. This non-profit is doing amazing work. The servers are young and learning so be patient. But food was excellent. Will definitely be be back in the future.
Friendly, professional service. Excellent food. We had the pork chop and the leek farro risotto -- both were delicious!
The entire experience is beautifully designed with reminders of the true commitment and purpose of this restaurant.... The youth they serve. The thoughtful placement of seating and open kitchen promotes a view of the collaboration between the staff and the youth. During our ticketed family style dinner, the chef detailed each course, explaining the pairings and sourcing. I really enjoyed each course, even trying new items! I love supporting the mission and the great food is a wonderful bonus.
