True Pittsburgh treasure. He's been there for 33 years. Friendly is barista I've ever met.
First off, the prices were sooo good for coffee and pastries nowadays!! But it is a cash only business. The coffee blend was very tasty and the latte was steamed perfectly. We got a white chocolate latte and a mocha and the chocolate for both was high quality. The pastries are handmade by the owner daily who is Italian. The cinnamon roll was the perfect blend of gooey cinnamon roll and sticky bun. The shop is a little small but here was several tables to eat at. The owner had a large collection of cool antiques and memorabilia there as decoration and he would love to chat about any tha pique your interest. You can tell the owners put a lot of love and care into this craft.

This quaint little coffee shop has top notch pastries. I have stopped past there 3 times attempting to try the cannoli but they are always sold out. About 2 years ago the owner told me in jest that the cannoli was the reason that he married his wife. Well I finally managed to aquire a cannoli today and it didn't disappoint.
If you are ever in Mt. Washington enjoying the view, stop by the Grand Brew. You won't regret the choice.

I didn’t have a lot of time and wasn’t planning on stopping in. However, something about this shop just pulled me in, and I have no regrets!
I grabbed a hot cocoa, sat down, and chit chat with the owner. Hot cocoa was phenomenal, one of the best I’ve ever had, and the owner was the sweetest guy ever! Stopping by made my day, and I left very satisfied! I will be going back next time i’m in town, and have been recommending this shop to anyone who’ll listen! The atmosphere is so comforting, Grand Brew is a great place to find yourself in Pittsburgh!

Got absolutely fleeced by the owner who decided a store bought, microwaved pastry was somehow worth 10 dollars. Didn't ring anything up, just decided how much he wanted to charge me. Also, despite wearing nose cancelling headphones, I could still hear him and all his buddies LOUDLY go on and on about politics. Owner will rob you, do not go

Grand Brew has the best hot chai latte I've ever had. Perfectly spiced, smooth, and comforting-not too sweet and not overpowering. You can tell it's made with care and quality ingredients. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff is just as warm as the drinks. I stopped here while visiting PA and haven't stopped thinking about the latte since. Highly recommend!!

I randomly stumbled into this coffee shop today, and I truly believe my life path led me here for a reason. That reason was meeting Todd. What started as a simple stop for coffee turned into a meaningful conversation and the feeling that I had made a real, unexpected friend.
Todd took the time to genuinely talk with me, listen, and help me in a way that felt rare and deeply human. There was no rush, no surface-level small talk—just kindness, curiosity, and a sincere desire to be helpful. I walked away having learned a lot, feeling encouraged, and honestly just lighter. It completely made my day.
Some places give you great coffee, but every once in a while you find a place that gives you something more. Today, that “more” was connection. I’m grateful for the experience and for crossing paths with Todd. I’ll definitely be back.

Cute cash-only little coffeeshop a short walk from a stunning viewpoint of the river.
Some high top table seating and low tables, but a bit cramped for a hangout spot.
Fast and friendly service. Delicious gooey chocolate chip cookies and good drip coffee.
