Come back Gussy's!!! Has been "temporarily" closed for like 3 months now. At least update your website and tell us what's going on. I need my fix!!!

Everything bagel was toasted perfectly. The scallion cream cheese was very flavorful with a healthy amount of smoked salmon, and I got the pastrami style. What a seasoning. Fresh capers, red onion, definitely a must-have!! The pictures do not do justice. Great and attentive staff.

So we ordered them today for the first time on DoorDash. It take over and hour and we live 10 minutes away. It wasn't the dasher fault. The bagel tastes like they had been refrigerated and were very chewy/hard. The berry cream cheese had almost no flavor at all. I was very disappointed. The egg and salt bagel tastes like they used used simple shaker salt and not nice course salt. The avocado spread was alright. None of the bagels came toasted. No cookie or chicken noodle soup was delivered either. Not sure I would eat here again - maybe due to how long it took for the dasher to pick up the food meant the shop was overly busy and quality wasn't there. I don't really know. The coffee was good! :-)

ordered pickup on Uber eats and it took 30 min for them to get to my order. They prioritize any order above Uber eats pick ups.

Gussy’s bagels are tasty and huge. Incomparable to store bought bagels. I had the everything bagel paired with honey walnut schmear, and it was a perfect treat.I highly recommend. Best bagel shop In Oakland.

Perfect. My immediate impression was that this place really prioritizes top quality ingredients. Got a breakfast sandwich here with egg bacon and cheese. The bagel was crisp on the outside and pillowy/chewy on the inside. The bacon had a deep, smoky flavor and the cheese was the perfect compliment to the sandwich. One of the best breakfast sandwiches I have ever had, highly recommend!

Gussy's is the go-to breakfast spot in Oakland. Fast service, welcoming employees, and unbelievable food. On top of the excellent breakfast sandwiches, the new pizza that they have is insanely good. Huge slices and super filling. Definitely the best pizza in Oakland..

Without a doubt, the best, most welcoming Bagel shop in the city/area. Gussy's has a tremendous staff and the food is unbelievable. They know how to make a damn good bagel and their breakfast sandwiches are incredible. A must-hit if you're visiting Pitt or looking around the city.

The food is good. I got the pastrami lox with everything that usually comes on it on two separate occasions. I would go back for the food by principal, but the price for just one drink and just one pastrami lox, its over 20 dollars. The bottom line is that it's just too expensive here. The food is good though, there's no issues with that.

Overpriced stale room temperature coffee. Not worth $4. Bagels are meh. Staff meh. Did I mention coffee is a rip off?

I grabbed a breakfast to go from Gussy's. It was simple, but delicious . I had a lightly toasted bagel with scallion cream, cheese, lox, tomatoes, onions, and capers. It was delicious!

I was sad when Bruegger’s left Oakland and was very excited to try Gussy’s for the first time, as I’m desperate to find a good, NY water bagel. I am entirely underwhelmed. The sesame bagel on my breakfast sandwich was not much better than the ones I get at the grocery store. It was slightly better than Einstein’s but not as good as Bruegger’s. It almost seemed overdone. It didn’t have a good water bagel chew or crispy, bubbly skin, but perhaps they aren’t kettle-boiled, as I assumed they’d be. The egg on my sandwich was a microwaved, yellow puck, and I paid an extra $1 for the LIGHTEST wisp of rotten, brown avocado. If you have no fresh avocado on hand, maybe turn the option off for online ordering. I was actually thankful it was nearly non-existent though given the quality, and I hope I don’t get food poisoning. I scraped off what I could, but it made the sandwich very unappealing. They didn’t include the hash brown I paid an additional $1 for at all, but by the time I got back to my office and realized it was absent, I wasn’t walking back to get it, considering the quality of the other items. I’m sure it would have just been a soggy, microwaved mess anyway. Its sad that one can’t just trust their order to be correct and complete. The chocolate chip cookie was mediocre at best. It tasted sort of stale, was definitely slightly burnt on the bottom, and didn’t have much flavor overall. Maybe a little salt and a staff that knows when to pull them from the oven and when it’s time to toss them, and they might be good. Regrettably, I also ordered a half dozen bagels and two containers of cream cheese for another $24 to take home, and if I could, I would return them. The pandemic really took a toll on the food service industry. There seems to be very little concern anymore for the product one puts out, but the prices keep climbing. I might give the pizza a try since it claims to be New Haven style, which I love, but my search for a decent bagel in Pittsburgh continues.

If I could give them no stars I would. I'm reaching out to my lawyer for unfair labor practices.

Do not order any type of eggs from here. Eggs are not freshly made, taste microwaved and ruin the entire breakfast sandwich. Eggs are like elementary school breakfast. Overall cute spot, but would not recommend the food specifically a bacon, egg, and cheese bagel.

Upon arrival in Oakland you’ll find the city bustling with college kids and Pittsburghers alike in a crowded area known as Oakland. So, prepare yourself to drive around a bit until you find a parking spot. But don’t get frustrated! Because delicious bagels aren’t far from your finger tips. Seated on fifth ave in between Meyran ave and Atwood street is a well seated bagel and pizza shop. The gentleman in there are quick to get you ordered in and are very informative of the product they provide just ask what goes with what and don’t feel pressured, if you can’t decide they’ll have a good pairing for you. There’s sandwich creations already created on the board above as well as a make your own category of ingredients and types of bagels made. There’s plenty of seating and the environment is friendly.I chose a cinnamon raisin bagel with wild berry smear which was a delight. Next time I go I’ll try a cinnamon raisin with honey walnut smear with smoked salmon.Enjoy!
