I’ll definitely tell others about them. Everything exceeded my expectations.

Delicious beer of all varieties! As an IPA fan, I loved the Buffy and Buffyverse. Knowledgeable staff and a cool vibe with pinball machines, etc and board games. Outdoor seating as well.

Helltown Brewing - Strip District is like walking into a mid-2000s Notre Dame offense — solid, dynamic, and a little underrated if you’re not paying attention. Four stars for a place that doesn’t just serve great beer, but does it with a confident, no-frills attitude that lets the product speak louder than the branding. (The fifth star is reserved for divine intervention or a national championship — fair’s fair.)

I rolled in on a chill afternoon and started with a sour, which came out swinging like Golden Tate going up for a contested ball — bright, bold, tart in all the right places, but never overdoing it. You could taste the intention behind every sip — well-balanced and made with care. Followed it up with their American Pilsner, and that was the Jimmy Clausen of the lineup: dependable, polished, and maybe not the flashiest in the room, but with solid fundamentals that make you appreciate the craft. Just a clean, crisp beer that knows exactly what it wants to be.

The space is laid-back and no-nonsense — a little industrial, a little gritty, but never cold. It felt like a bar that’s comfortable in its own skin, like a veteran lineman who’s seen it all and still shows up ready to work. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and didn’t try to upsell you on some wild flight — they asked what you liked and gave you something better. Respect.

If you ever watched Clausen throw to Tate back in South Bend and thought, “Man, these two are in sync,” that’s the kind of harmony happening here between the atmosphere and the beer. Nothing forced, nothing extra, just great execution from snap to finish.

Would I come back? Absolutely. It’s the kind of place you want to bring a friend who’s never been, so you can be the one to say, “You gotta try this.” It’s Helltown by name, but there’s a little bit of heaven in the details.

Four stars — and if Golden Tate ever walks in wearing that old #23, someone better buy him a round. 🍻

Had no food, what! how do you offer beers to people and can't serve food. We left and spent our money elsewhere that had food and beer!

All the beers we tried were fantastic. They also have a full cocktail menu. Large space with frequent events (music, trivia, pinball), a row of arcade machines. A large outdoor seating space is available, but not much shade. Be aware they do not serve food, but they welcome you to bring outside food to enjoy.

Nice place. There was live music when we checked this place out. I tried a flight and the beer was good.

First time there yesterday. No negatives, the missus and I found beers we liked, downed them then left quickly. Giving them 4 stars, will return (soon, I hope) and will give a more detailed evaluation -- I'm guessing they'll earn the 5th star. Definitely nice to have a place like this in the Strip.

It’s bring your own good, which is nice since there are so many options around. Great indoor and outdoor space.

Very spacious and dog friendly. Allowed us to bring food from a nearby pizza place.

Very unwelcoming bartender. went in today for my 21st birthday and explained that i haven’t tried beer before. i went to a brewery hoping to find guidance and direction for what kind of beer i might like. the bartender just said “menus right there” and pointed at the wall offering no help or engagement.Note me and my boyfriend were the only people in the building, it was dead. We left because I was hoping for a helpful experience but she was a vibe killer…

Located in Pittsburgh's Strip District is Helltown Brewing. Live music, cold craft beer... Enough said! Make the stop.
