Hubby and I wanted something different for New Years dinner. Something where that wasn’t going to be packed with revelers for First Night. Huszar’s was the perfect choice. We had the Langos, a fried bread appetizer that was so good. Not greasy, just a perfect crispy outside with a pillowy interior basted with garlic butter and topped with sour cream and shredded cheese. Dinner was Chicken Paprikas and the Stuffed Chicken Breast. The doughy dumplings were the perfect side to the paprikas. The plate left the table empty. Hubby had stuffed chicken breast and all I heard was yummy noises from his side of the table. And lastly, we had the Nutella Crepe. A wonderful end to our dinner. Definitely recommend Huszar for a nice intimate night out.

Wheelchair accessibility: Main entry is sidewalk level with tables able to accept wheelchairs.

So Good! Highly recommend. True authentic Old World cuisine. The flavors are wonderful. Kindness is repaid with kindness and respect. Bring the whole family here! Call ahead please. The paprikash as good as Mama made. They know what they're doing here, trust the menu!

First time trying Hungarian food and I LOVED it! Welcoming and homey atmosphere. The owners & service were great and very kind. Food came out quick, lots of options and the food was actually real and fresh.

Eating at Huszár reminds me of some restaurants in Budapest.
We bought a bottle of wine which increases the cost of the meal. Without it, eat meal was between 20 and 30

I took my dear friends from Slovenia to give them a little piece of central Europe in Pittsburgh. Unfortunately, this review won't be about food as we failed to enjoy it in peace and have a pleasant conversation due to the owner's behavior.

We walked in and were greeted by the owner roaring. "I knew it, no reservations!" I get it if this was a packed place, but I had never seen it busy before at total capacity. Surprised, we sat down at the table offered (we didn't need the reservation, and there were maybe a few other occupied tables). We ordered some drinks, appetizers, and entrees as we got seated. The owner overheard us speaking Serbian, and she came by to cynically greet us, but first, she said, "Speak English please," so unwelcoming. She sat at our table without asking us if she could join and said there is a small community in Hungary with a "called Wendish group of people." I found out that evening that is a reasonably racist term that Austrians and Hungarians use towards Slavic minorities or anyone Slavic living in their countries.

They also have a giant map of greater Hungary on their wall, encompassing all of Slovenia, 50% of Croatia, and 20% of Serbia. I am not political, but I will save my stress and lower my cortisol level by avoiding this restaurant or bringing anyone there. Sadly, I am only commenting on the atmosphere and experience. Due to all this, I forgot everything about our meals.

Awesome food! Went here for my husband's birthday on Friday night and it was great. You can tell that the restaurant is a real piece of home that the owners are sharing with their community. We'll definitely be back!

Talks to customers with outrage and moral superiority about her political opinions. We just wanted to come have a nice dinner and get away from all of that. Stay away.

My dad's grandparents come from Hungary, so he has been wanting to try this little place for a long time and we finally got to stop in today. The food, atmosphere, and owners were just great. The food is what my dad grew up on and he was so happy with everything. We tried some things that were familiar and some not so familiar, and everything was delicious. We can't wait to stop back!

What a lovely little restaurant with great comfort food. I brought my family after visiting nearby Allegheny General hospital which was only a few blocks away. We had a wonderful little feast with everyone sharing a bit of their entrees.
I ordered the Magyar Schnitzel which was delicious. It was lightly breaded and the mushroom sauce and dumplings were such a treat. Overall, it is worth a stop if you are craving a locally prepared comfort meal.

Very yummy Hungarian food. The goulash is very good and the meat was cooked perfectly. I definitely recommend the fried bread also. Delicious. The couple that own the restaurant are very nice and willing to recommend what to try if you have never had Hungarian food before. Definitely get dessert!
