It's was exactly what we were looking for. Home cooked and savory. The portions were perfect and the service was great!

FYI: no longer has liquor license.

there's confusion about this in other reviews, due to owner giving various excuses to patrons, but the real reason they're not serving alcohol is because they don't have a license to do so.

same applies to reported different customer service experiences, no one is making it up, people are treated differently based on whims of ownership.

When we arrived before our reservation time we were informed there'd be no alcohol. Okay. Cool. That's fine. Seated next to a baby and toddler. Not the best, but okay, cool. But the owner/server was not interested. Maybe just be closed during the week if you don't wanna do it. I get it, but damn. Food was good, but we won't be back. And this doesn't really capture how basically rude she was to even have us in the restaurant.

Personally, I really liked this place. The food is quite solid, but the 5 star really comes from the experience here. It's super homey. The owner (the lady) sat with us and talked to us and all the other diners, making jokes and just generally having a good time. She was very cool. The ambiance is so very nice, very Hungarian. Now the food: I tried the goulash, Lagos, chicken soup, chicken paprikas, and a cherry strudel.

Most of the food was excellent. Both the soups were outstanding. Well seasoned. The chicken soup was filled with interesting noodles and was very warm, and the goulash had tender meat and flavorful broth.

The langos was pretty interesting and well made too, but not my favorite. It's a street food, like a fried bread with some toppings like sour cream and cheese. It tasted a little bland and a tad oily, but the sour cream was a nice addition.

The main course, the chicken paprikas, was also quite good. The chicken was pretty tender, I believe a mix of dark and white meat. The sauce is quite nice, and again the sour cream works really well here. The noodles are also very well made, very authentic.

Finally, for dessert, I had the cherry strudel. I absolutely loved it, so much so that I almost forgot to take a picture (ate immediately)! Filled to the brim with cherries, soup, sweet, and perfect. Good size and fair price. Highly recommend.

Stop harassing guests with your personal politics. People come there to eat and enjoy themselves, not listen to opinions of the owners.

Delicious, affordable, and authentic Hungarian cuisine. Just a lovely, longtime mom and pop, old country kind of vibe. Will go back whenever in town

My brother and I went it there for dinner. We sat down and my brother ask for 2 beers! The women, who is the wife of the cook, told us NO! She wasn't serving beer??? I asked her why not and she said she didn't feel like it! Why we didn't get up and leave is something we should have done! I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THAT PLACE?

We had a great time. The food was yummy! The place was almost empty since we came early. It is really more like a dive bar iin appearance, but that is overcone by the good Hungarian food! We had fun talking with the couple that run the place. The wife, Judy, waited on us and was a hoot! She was so friendly and funny, we did a lot of kidding with her. The husband does the cooking and, since he isn't too comfortable with English, he didnt say as much, but the twinkle in his eyes spoke volumes! We felt like part of the family by the time we left. I had the Chicken Paprikas, and it had homemade (spaetzle-like) pasta and a delicious paprika cream sauce with tender chunks of chicken. Judy said they were out of lettuce, so no salads were available. We also had a delicious dessert... a crepe filled with walnuts, apricot jam, a hint of rum and drizzled with chocolate. A perfect ending!

Food is great from a year ago visit. Unfortunately we could not eat here tonight. ARRIVED AT 6:45 and kitchen closes at 7. We were that there were no seats but there were. I think the staff had enough of customers. They told us that lights off at 8. My advice make a reservation for 6 and no later. Hope this helps.
