Run of the mill experience. We had multi sushi rolls and pad thai. Everything was about a 6/10. No real variety to the sushi compared to many other spots around town. Pad thai had average flavor and left a lot to be desired. The overall atmosphere is bland and relatively uninviting. Service was average. Wouldn't actively return again but was fine for what it was. Did expect more though based on all the great things I've heard. It is BYOB which can be fun.

Great experience! Loved our time. Have a bigger review to give for another time but for this time all I have to say is I had a great time.

Chef Chance is a real one. He let us try something he experimented with earlier that day, fantastic off the menu recipe. We will definitely be back.

What a wonderful gem a short ways outside of the city. Low key some of the best sushi i have had. Very small and intimate experience. Will be my new go to when not traveling into PGH. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Our first few orders were exceptional.
Then, the attention to detail flew out the window .
Our last and final order was it.
Dry pad Thai, 4 slivers of scallion and tofu cubes that were way too big making them mushy inside.
Dumplings were undercooked and weirdly textured; inedible.
Steamed rice was okay.
Curry was flavorful but again, tofu chunks like soft eraser pieces.
We endeavor to support locally owned businesses, but can't continue with them.

Itamae hits the mark with everything they do. It is a wonderful family owned spot that has been a great addition to the neighborhood.

You can tell they're using high quality ingredients across the board. Everything fresh, everything delicious.

The sushi is must try, they have some real melt in your mouth sashimi. The Thai food is also outstanding with the different curries being a big highlight for me. And you have to get the crab rangoons. They're one of a kind. I really can't say enough nice things about the place.

Sushi was great, definitely will be back for the sushi alone! 10/10 for sushi, it was perfect especially for Pittsburgh.
The Pad Thai was okay and basil chicken was okay not our favorite thing ever though. 6/10 for those items.
But, pricing is amazing especially for lunch/ lunch specials. Definitely a spot to check out!

First, let me say we have been here before and loved it. Today was not a good experience. I made a phone call and made a reservation for 6:45 pm. We arrived at that time and were told there was no reservation in my name, nor any other. Where did it go? We stood around for 15 minutes, all the while staring at an empty table right next to us, after being told there were no tables. Eventually, one of the servers rudely pointed to that table and asked us to sit. We finally ordered about 10 minutes later and then sat for 35 minutes with nothing other than water while others who came in after us were served their appetizers and then their main entrees. When I finally asked a waiter where our food was, he said we are very busy. I had ordered shrimp tempura and ramen. My wife ordered sushi. Eventually, her sushi came. My tempura came about 8 minutes later, and the ramen was brought almost immediately after. It’s pretty clear that our order had never been entered into the kitchen, and they playing catchup. As far as the food, the sushi was good. The tempura was nowhere as good as the last time - heavy batter. By the time I had eaten the tempura, so it did not get cold, my Ramen was lukewarm. The original waiter that sat us down, pretty much dropped us, while running back and forth with takeout orders. He never came back to us. The other waiter attempted to apologize for the service and took our payment. I will not plan on going back at a busy dinner time (this was a Friday night), again. They are obviously popular, but this service will be their downfall if they don’t deal with it.

Absolutely love this place. Prices are so reasonable considering the quality of the food you receive. Everything is so fresh, and I have yet to try something I don’t enjoy on the menu

I wish I could say this place measured up to some of the high-end sushi restaurants in the local Pittsburgh area, but it just doesn't. They're trying but they just don't seem to have a mastery of how to balance excellent service with excellent quality sushi. Not sure I would return.

I had a group of 6 so I made a reservation the day before, but they forgot about us so they were almost a half hour late when seating us. They weren’t even going to take drink orders, just gave us water when we all wanted pop or Thai iced tea. Everything came out at different times and we were so hungry that kids started picking off the first plates that came out even though it wasn’t theirs. My order came out wrong, my daughter’s dinner didn’t come out at all. A $200 dinner and half of us left hungry because we were sick of dealing with it

They only had one high chair so I held my kid on my lap. Tightly packed and stuffy space, echoey ambiance, waitress was ambivalent. Food was ok but not a good enough experience for me to return in the future. To be fair I think there was one waitress for the whole place so I know she was stressed. We never got a refill on water though, so I mean, take it for what it's worth.
