This place deserves to be on the Mt. Rushmore of dive bars. Awful cheap beer selection? Check. Home-made art? Check. Clouds of cigar smoke? Check. Diverse bunch of day drinkers? Check. Booze prices on the bottles in Sharpie? Check. Spotless, graffiti free bathrooms? Check. This place is heavenly.
This place rocks. Great Bloody Mary's and nice cold beer. I tried Iron City beer for my first time, and think that it's great too. Patrons are cool, and staff are efficient and friendly. Will stop there again this October when I go to watch the Penguins play again.
How can this be a 5 star review?? Because Jack's is a consummate dive bar - been there for a billion years, including some of the help & patrons, and it stays true to exactly what it is - a Pittsburgh dive bar, complete with smoking (I don't smoke), iron city beer, early hours, locals, Steelers Identity, etc. They do have some basic bar food- like burgers, possibly grilled cheese, etc., and it's pretty much what you'd expect or even worse, but it's...
