This was our first time here and it was an amazing experience! The cozy atmosphere combined with the amazing food and staff made it the perfect evening. We will definitely be going back again soon!

Having been to the building many times years ago for a previous restaurant we have wanted to try this establishment but never seemed to get there with the other options in the area. Overall dining was enjoyable at Joseph Tambellini. The initial service was a tad sparse after our arrival but improved steadily as the evening wore on. Most of the food was quite good with a few exceptions. The value of the evening depends on various factors. Dining out for a celebration requires one to expect some extra inflated pricing as was the case here. The wine selected was a very nice 2019 Montepulciano $75, at about a 300% markup, the large bottle of Pellegrino at $10 ???, pasta denoted as specialty sides at $8 each and added cheese, generously supplied gorgonzola and feta, but at $7 each to the included salads certainly helps pay for the entire salad. The pricing is mentioned so Open Table readers know to expect to pay a premium for a fine dinner experience. The Veal Chop was superb at $69, the Salmon Forestal and Chicken Parm very good as was the Seafood Melissa with the exception of the shrimp on the Melissa which was tough. The Burrata Salad was quite good as was the garlic oil for the bread, unfortunately some of the bread was getting stale. The Pecan Ball, a Pittsburgh staple now harder to find, was wonderful. Alas the Lava Cake was ordinary. All in all a more than satisfactory meal in a nice setting with overall good service for four people at just under $600 including the service which should always be rewarded generously as staff usually earn it. We will happily return.

Enjoyably romantic fine-dining experience, drinks were great! My fiance really enjoyed her lemon cello spritz. Our Quattro formmagio pasta was phenomenal! Handsdown best meatballs in the city. The filet and pork chop were great, cooked by Chef Joe T himself! Our server Ronnie was professional, fun, and knowledgeable Overall, it was a great time and notable experience in a well-known pittsburgh establishment!

Everything was done to perfection !! Sesame (Sweet and Sour) Frittata Calamari to begin the dinner experience, Demetrius and I highly recommend!!! 🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽 The burrata mozzarella melted in your mouth , paired with the HM balsamic drizzle, and the Piccata was absolutely amazing with Almalfi coast fresh lemon squeeze , plus the Pecan Ball , with HM candied pecans drenched in butterscotch and hot fudge was to die for !! Grazie , Chef!!! 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹❤️❤️❤️

Great food and service. We shared the caesar salad and zucchini app. Had the Crab balls and Seafood special and shared the pound cake. Server did a wonderful job.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Both my husband and I selected this restaurant for the last night of our stay in the Pittsburgh area, and we left thinking we had chosen well. Highly recommend.

All the food was amazing. The pasta with the tomato basil sauce was fantastic. We loved all the appetizers, the meatball, the zucchini and the crab balls were out of this world.

The food was delicious but the appetizer came out and was not hot. While they appeared to have plenty of staff, our waitress had to go behind the bar for our second glass of wine. The bartender should have been able to fill our glasses in a timely manner. This is definitely a special occasion kind of place as the prices have gone up significantly since our last visit.

I had an outstanding dinner with my family. Food was great, service was fantastic. It's what you would expect from Joe and his crew.

They used to provide better quality food years ago. Have not been there in years. Nice atmosphere, good service. Not noisy which is wonderful compared to other restaurants these days. The pasta with tomato sauce side was only so so; so was the veal piccata dish, and the chicken marsala we tried. The salad that comes with the meal was delicious. No gluten free desserts except a pecan ball, so did not try. For their high prices I expect better quality so we will not return.

The food is delicious from appetizers to desserts. The service is also excellent. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and able to make suggestions. Service was attentive without being too much. The prices are higher than some, but lower than some finer dining establishments. I like the location of being in a local neighborhood. On Stre parking worked okay. My only dismay with this restaurant is lack of handicap accessibility. There is no accessible entrance. You must be able to climb approximately six steps to enter.
