I went in yesterday to get a poke bowl. Along with my favorite ingredients, I asked for avocado. The cashier said that it was his first day, so it took him a little extra time to figure out where everything was and get it all together for me. That’s fine in itself, but whoever manages this place needs to label their items accurately. The guy gave me a very generous scoop of what we both thought was delicious avocado that turned out to be a giant scoop of wasabi. This amount of wasabi made what would have been a really good bowl virtually inedible. I thought my brain and stomach were both going to explode from how violently sick I got. I don’t mind spicy, but this was insane. I do not blame the guy who made my bowl. I should have turned around immediately and gone back, but I had a time sensitive errand and was unable to do so. So I did what I thought was the next logical step and tried to call the restaurant. I was met with silence. Apparently, the voicemail box is full and can’t accept messages. So I sent them a DM on social media and I still have yet to hear back. I’ll revise my review if and when they take the time to respond to my message and correct my experience by labeling their items more clearly and offering to make it up to me because I basically had to throw out an $18 poke bowl.

Simple carryout order of two salmon poke bowls; ordered one on rice base, one on greens. Received both on greens. Salmon tasted hazardously fishy (we stopped after one bite). The order with ponzu had so much ponzu sauce that the everything in the bowl was drenched as if it had been pickled, with surplus pooling in the bottom of the bowl. Awful.

This is not what you think of when you get poke. I do not recommend. 16$ for what. Canned tuna and rice? This is ridiculous I should have trusted my gut and walked out when every restaurant on the block is packed tight and there wasn’t a soul inside this place.

One of the most disappointing food experience I've had in a while. The ingredients seemed high quality and the bowl was visually appealing but the amount of kahuna sauce placed on the bowls made them practically inedible. Kahuna sauce is very salty, which would have been fine if the quantity was measured appropriately. The rice was almost saturated with soy sauce.

Good food, but it is always a ghost town inside when we visit

What happened to Kahuna? This place used to be great. Walked in to the overwhelming smell of cleaning products, the lights were half turned off, and my order was made wrong. It was 40 minutes before close but it seemed like they were closing early. Regardless, not hitting that spot back up for a while.

Food tastes good, but the portion sizes are very small for the price you're being charged. This applies to both the bowls and the smoothies. Not sure how often I'll come back, just happened to have a craving for a cold dinner today

Ingredients were not fresh. I felt sick after eating the salmon poke.

Edit: used to be 2 stars upgrading to 5I thought there was an issue with my order (soy sauce instead of ponzu) and called the restaurant about it the next day where the employee said I could get a bowl on the house. I went in and he was super helpful letting me taste the sauces (upon which I realized that the ponzu just tastes like soy sauce and so the issue I had wasn't even an issue in the first place), and was generally super nice about itDidn't catch his name but he used the bowl that I was getting on the house to train / test a new employee and I could rly tell he cared about the new guy's learningI enjoyed my bowl a lot more after modifying the sauces :)Old review: I've had good experiences here in the past but the last one was kind of disappointingFirstly the bowls are way smaller than before (another review mentioned this as well). A bowl used to be almost 2 meals for me but now it is just 1 D:Also I got a ponzu salmon bowl but they put soy sauce instead of ponzu so now I just have really salty salmon D: and REALLY salty rice...

We like Kahuna, but just ordered from there tonight and the bowls have become tiny - like less than half the previous volume. The price has not changed. Difficult to justify the cost for this portion size.

Went twice over this past year and ordered two different types of signature bowl (ponzu salmon and kimchi salmon). Sooooo underwhelming. Very little fish and so much sauce.I won’t recommend the signature bowls at all. But if you’re nearby and want to try, I’d suggest “make your own” bowl option instead of the signature.

It's dirty and there are flies everywhere near the food. Gross

Good poke. That being said, JJ Poke is also worth checking out.
