Unfortunately, my experience at Khalil’s was not good. The place is very small for a restaurant, and when we visited at night, the lighting was extremely dim to the point that it was uncomfortable—you could barely see the food on the table or walk through the hallway to the restroom.
The restaurant was also very noisy and crowded, which made it unsuitable for a family outing. We waited around 40–50 minutes for our order, which is quite long. When the food finally arrived, the portions were very small compared to the price, which was disappointing.
The taste of the food was okay, but it didn’t make up for the overall experience. The only positive aspects were the nice decor and the music.
Overall, it was not a pleasant experience, and I don’t think I would visit again.

Everything here is fantastic! Absolutely love the rice and chicken skewers. The hummus and pita bread is the best I have ever had.

Amazing food and a cozy spot. Really love the atmosphere of Khalil's, it's beautifully and thoughtfully decorated with moody lighting, which I really appreciate in this day and age of depressing builders grade restaurants all over town. The food is always excellent and the staff is so friendly and personable. I've only been in the winter, but looking forward to coming back during the warmer months to enjoy the gorgeous outdoor area!

Always a wonderful experience. I think they have some of the best dolmas in the city, and I highly recommend them for catering.

File under the “used to be good” category. I think this is an excellent example of why leaving your restaurant to your kids without training them is a bad idea. The food has gone down hill and the service is atrocious.

Just amazing! One of the greatest dining experiences of our lives. Wish I had taken pictures of everything, but everything looked so good we all dug in as soon as it hit the table. Of our party of four, one had the falafel dinner, one the beef kebab, one the chicken kebab, and I had the lamb kebab. Each meal was just wonderful, so make that 5 stars from each of us.

I got engaged on New Years Eve at Khalil's. It was our first time there and it was a beautiful and wonderful experience. Everyone (including the other patrons) were very warm and welcoming. My fiancé picked a beautiful and wonderful place to propose to me. We will never forget this experience. The dancer was very nice and included everyone and even recorded the proposal. I can not say thank you enough! We will definitely be back!

Absolutely impeccable. We got take-out but wish we could’ve dined in. The food is 100% authentic, comforting, and downright delicious. I wish we lived in Pittsburgh purely to have access to this incredible restaurant.
