Late Addition Brewing + Blending

My friend and I unfortunately had what turned out to be an unpleasant and angering experience involving the bartender and another patron there recently. My friend was already there and spoke highly of the place before I arrived. We were hoping to find a bar that was quiet and intimate where we could just have a pint and chat. When I arrived it was just my friend and the male bartender. The beer was excellent. I had the German lager. My friend liked his. The bartender was friendly with us and seemed to appreciate our patronage and money. Then, the bartender's whole demeanor and attitude changed toward us from friendliness and appreciation to snootiness and mockery after his dude bro friend with a dog came in. The dude bro started giving my friend looks like he was sizing him up for a fight. Both he and the bartender started laughing at my friend's expense when he was talking to me. I asked both the bartender and his dude bro friend if there was a joke that I was supposed to get that I was missing and they both denied that they were laughing at him. My friend and I had trivia at another bar to go to at 6pm. Though it was early (around 5:30) seats fill fast at the other bar on trivia night, so we decided to leave early. He was also trying to keep his anger in check the whole time they were laughing at him because he usually goes right to using his fists when grown adults have acted like the bartender and his buddy have acted that way around him in the past. We left politely but will not be back. We've seen Late Addition dead more than once while neighboring bars are hopping with patrons. If the bar is hiring snob bartenders who are perfectly okay with mocking paying customers with their dude bro friends, then it's not much of a surprise that the bar is empty.

Small chill space with flavorful beers. Enjoyed the Cream Ale, Mango Sour, Lupulin IPA, and Rubus Raspberry Sour. The Lupulin was delicious - a hint of hops with smooth finish. The mango sour had subtle tartness and a full body. Friendly Bartender.

Late Addition is a cool spot to grab a beer. Everything they have on tap is crisp and refreshing. We tried a few sour beers and they were great. The inside is also cool with the stained wood walls and exposed joist ceiling.

Well Deserved...

Two stars because it was very clean and cool inside, but the woman with the septum piercing working Saturday August 23 is one of the most unfriendly and awkward bartenders I’ve ever had. Told my friend ‘I don’t know, I don’t drink those’ when she asked which flavor seltzer was better and then maybe 5 minutes after she grabbed one from the cooler, (which again is sitting on floor level outside of the bar) proceeded to lecture her on how only she can grab and serve them. So then say something right when she grabs it?or maybe mention it when she’s looking at them and asking about them? AWKWARD Lol There wasn’t even anyone else in the bar… Listen I get it I work retail, but we were very friendly and the place was dead. Lighten up lady! With so many other really great bars in the area I’ll only come back here if I want to feel unwelcome.

The dry cider was also gross, but then again I just got back from the Catskills where I had the best cider ever.

This is still the best brewery in Pittsburgh.

This place is sneaky good. The Lady Divine hazy IPA was killer. The bartender today was very honest and forth coming with us. Really liked the place and I don't think it gets the respect it is due. They should drop the blending from their name and maybe add some simple fun things like NES night or Sega Genesis night as ways to bring in more people, but if this was in my neighborhood, I'd be there regularly.

Cool spot. Good beers. Simple but comfy place. Some breweries try to be too much but this one is just a place to enjoy a pint, no need to be more. Definitely worth a visit.

A nice little stop. Interesting looking selection, but sort of underwhelming. Bartender poured a nice clean beer.
