My friend and I went here on a whim this last Sunday around noon. I had never gotten food from here before but had heard really good things about her banh mi. There was no one waiting when we came up and we were able to place our order right away. We each got a banh mi and it was $8 each. They only take cash. They had a table available if you wanted to eat your food there which I would've done if we got pho. The banh mi itself was flavorful but not what I was expecting (I was expecting the traditional banh mi with pate and all the usual instead of just the roast pork). I thought the pickled vegetables that came with it were delicious and really balanced out the pork well.

My first bahn mi so I have nothing to compare it to but everything was fresh and delicious. The bread was spot on and the pickled veggies were just the right amount of sweet heat to make my lips tingle but not my stomach. Loved it.

This place is filthy! It was closed by the health department....enough said! Your taking your life into your own hands if you eat anything here. There is another great Vietnamese restaurant on Penn, go there! Your body will thank you!

I was walking down the Strip District in search of an easy gran and go lunch and I saw Lucy's Bahn Mi stand first. Sounded perfect to me. I orders the pork sandwich. They added some nice fresh veggies and it was a good, quick lunch. If super hungry I'd want 1.5 of these but I had a snack not long before so it worked out well.

I've heard great things about this food truck, but to much of my disappointment, the food was very subpar and unenjoyable. I ordered a spicy chicken pad thai, and could not fathom how bland the traditional Thai stir fried noodles were. The spice level definitely had some kick to it, but it could not help the dish altogether. The rice noodles were overcooked, tasteless and mixed with some bean sprouts and scallions. I did not feel very well after this meal. Very disappointed. They are known for their sandwiches, so give it a shot! They also offer fried rice and chicken curry. But based on this meal, I wouldn't come back unfortunately. I believe that all dishes should be executed properly, given their price tag (pad thai was $12 on this day). tldr;food 1/5service 3/5ambiance 1/5 (dingy outdoor tent and old garden tables and chairs)

I have been loving Vietnamese food as of recently, and my girlfriends mom was craving Bahn Mi sandwiches, so we decided to check out Lucy's in the strip district! It was owned by a lovely women who deserves so much credit for producing some delicious food! We got a chicken and pork bahn Mi that was filled with fresh veggies and served on a warm roll! The sauce that was drizzled on top completed the entire meal, and I added a little bit of sriracha because I love a little spice! It was incredible, and I want to come back to try her pad Thai (I saw someone else eating it and it looked wonderful)!

Great time having lunch at Lucy's!This small stand has some of the best Banh mi in Pittsburgh! Lucy has a trailer set up under a tent where she cooks. Under the tent is also a table with chairs where you can eat your food or you can easily take your food to go. Since this is in the strip there is mostly street parking but I didn't have trouble finding a spot. When I arrived we had no wait to order and our food came out quickly. As we were leaving there was a crowd waiting to order so we came just in time! When ordering the pad Thai you can customize how spicy you want it. The pad Thai portion was generous and reasonably priced at $12. I ordered the Banh mi which came loaded with fresh ingredients and tasted great! And it was reasonably priced at $8. It does have jalapeños in it so it is a little spicy. Lucy was very friendly and welcoming. Overall a great time grabbing lunch here!

The BEST bahn mi I've ever had! I love that they're right at the end of the strip so it's easy to grab on your way in or out, fresh toppings and the sauce they put on is incredible. $8 cash only for a chicken bahn mi!

Delicious banh mi! Set up as an unassuming street stall, the meat is cooked well, and you can choose your toppings from a selection of pickled onions, cauliflower, carrots, jalapenos, and cilantro. A sweet and sticky brown sauce ties everything together.

Low quality photo for high quality food I will give Lucy's my business 10/10 times if I'm craving this in the strip. For $8 you get this bahn mi, hoagie-like meal. I tipped just because it was a family outside in the heat cheffing up.Lucy is a cute little lady and I told her and what appeared to be her daughter and grandson?? (Not sure just assuming) that this is my first time and I wanted allll the toppings. I definitely don't regret it. This was the only picture I could take before demolishing it. Located in a tent, don't be deterred by the looks, one of the best things to eat in the Strip served by some good people!
