Black guy with a hat on and apron stood in the doorway of the store as I was parked in a spot out front waiting to pickup a breakfast order from a neighboring store. Idk if he thought he was neighborhood watch or not but he had a less than friendly look on his face and I didn’t like that. It’s street parking. Petition for a sectioned off valet area if people pulling up in front of your store offends you. Luckily, I’m medicated now so I don’t go in and ask him what his problem was ?.

Merante's is one of the few places in Bloomfield that is still honoring the legacy of Pittsburgh's Little Italy. ?? Maria and her staff give wonderful customer service and they are keeping Italian traditions alive.The front of Merante's is a gift shop with Old World treasures. In the back -a kitchen reminiscent of my Italian Great-Grandmother and Great-Aunt's basement kitchen in their Larimer home where Christmas Eve fishes were cooked and wedding cookies were baked.Merante's Facebook page showcases what's on the menu. When we visited we purchased Ricotta Pie (Italian Cheesecake), Easter Bread and Nut Roll to have for our Easter dessert. Everything was delicious. These baked specialties can only be created by someone with generational cooking experience.There isn't many places like Merante's left in our city so give them a visit and your support so we can keep these traditions and memories alive for decades to come. ?? ?❤?

My mom purchased a pasta jar and was very excited to give it to me to display on my kitchen counter. To my dismay, I found it broken. That was the last thing I was expecting considering it was so nicely bubble-wrapped. Very disappointed!

Found this place living at children’s hospital, everyday I just wanted to leave and go here. Never knew what the menu would be like you would just have to go and see for yourself. Something new always. My husband swears they have the best wedding soup hands down. Im completely obsessed with the carrot cake and I will never be able to go or get it anywhere else. Best carrot cake ever! The staff and owner are super friendly and very easy to talk to. Need a laugh they chuckle and make the day a little brighter. I wish this place was a little closer to home we have Maria’s dinner every other night. We will definitely be back and can’t thank you all enough for everything the last few weeks. Sam & Day.

From wedding soup to various soups, Lasagna, Pasta, Homemade Meat Balls & Sauce, Italian Salads, FISH Friday, and Sausage. Maria, along with her "cooks", only know her "secret ingredient's". I stumbled this amazing place earlier this week while I was on my lunch break and returned with coworkers two days in a row! I love the food here! Everything I’ve tried has been wonderful! The staff is very friendly and kind! They serve large fabulous portions that will touch your soul!
